zach looked away from his phone after seeing three fan posts about the secret relationship between gabbie and jack and how good they looked together. zach wanted to tell them that there was nothing between them, he wanted to tell them that it would never be something between them again, but even he doubted his thoughts.
zach left the phone on his desk and looked through his bookcase for his art history book, that was one of the subjects interested him and he couldn't take the online class if he couldn't find the fucking book. he looked at the clock on his wrist and saw that there was still ten minutes to go before the class began, a class he refused to miss.
i have to find that damn book.
he stopped in front of the bookshelf and saw the book almost covered by a pile of sheets of problems of mathematics, as he had been doing so many equations and classes with jack almost his entire room was full of notes of math. zach tried to reach for the book, but someone covered his eyes from behind.
zach could recognize who he was only because of the colony he gave off.
"guess who i am," he said near his ear.
don't sigh, zach! you don't want to look like an idiot in front of him, he told himself.
zach went to open his mouth, but at that moment that peroson turned him around and then the youngest was in front of a boy with curly hair and small freckles with a smile that could melt anyone.
and at that moment zach forgot everything about gabbie.
jack gave him a hug and placed a kiss on his cheek. "hi, handsome," muttered jack.
he pulled back and zach could feel jack's eyes looking at his body. the heat increased in the room and zach came the tentative idea of missing the art class.
is this the moment when he comes up to me and stamps me against the wall to kiss me passionately? thought zach. because i hope it's that moment.
zach would pay anything for him to skip thing about 'knowing' each other and do it. zach, you definitely have to go and give yourself holy water. "hi." zach answered finally.
"what do you want to eat?" jack asked.
zach frowned, remembering what time it was. "it's eleven o'clock, isn't it too early?"
"i know, but emma has come and jonah has said they are going to cook at home so i'll sign up to do it with them. to do it for you."
the idea of jack cooking made zach laughed. neither of them was good at cooking, that's why they used to order food. but the idea of jack asking him what he wanted to cook for him excited him. as if it was something very personal. zach smiled sideways. "surprise me."
jack rolled his eyes. "you're very complicated." zach felt nervous at the second, as if he had just ruined it, so he stuttered a few words without coherence until jack went back to talk. "but i like you that way."
at that moment zach breathed again calmly.
"and... are you free on friday?" the curly-haired boy spoke again. this ti e qhe looked even more shy and nervous than zach.
"there's going to be another match of ryan's team, so i'll be busy until nine." zach said a little annoyed now that ryan belonged to the basketball team at his high school.
"well, i can always go with you," jack replied in a whisper zach responded instantly nodding his head. "then we could go eat hot dogs."
"okay, it would be great." zach sketched a smile. jack relaxed his shoulders looking relieved.
did he think i would say no? this guy should wear his glasses all the time because he's the only one not noticing the way zach looked at him. the way zach was falling for him.
"good." jack said approaching zach.
the alarm on zach's phone that indicated that the class was going to start sounded like a fucking curse. why does it have to sound right now?
but zach had to move away because the art history class was the best so he threw jack out of his room, picked up the book and went to the website to see the teacher online. being in online classes, zach knew that there were more students but the good news was that nobody knew who zach was. there he was just a normal student.
there was professor carmichael stroking his italian-style mustache. zach liked his mustache because it reminded him of his mother's pasta. the teacher divided the program of classes into seasons to cover all the arts. starting with the literary station, he makes an exhibition about literary cubism, and zach was fascinated to see how they create a poem inside a figure. he wanted to do that.
"we are going to work on cubism and poetry, for the next class you are going to do an essay about poetry in all its forms, colors and flavors. as complete as you can. "

at lunchtime, jack was waiting for him downstairs while the boys set the table. emma winked at zach when she saw jack and him talking to themselves. they seemed a quiet and familiar day.
emma was fine with jonah and they went back to making those fan-idol jokes that made them look so cute, cara sneaked through the window even though she could go through the door, but it looked like daniel loved her in that funny way, and corbyn was away arguing over the phone trying to make anyone decipher with who he was spoking.
"do you like the class of arts? "jack asked zach when they were alone in the hallway.
"yes, i think that's the only thing i do well."
"i really doubt it. you are spectacular, zach." the curly haired boy's compliment made zach's cheeks turn red. jack was a romantic.
at that moment zach went to ask him something to continue the conversation without talking about him, but no word came out of his mouth. since his sight was nailed in the three people that entered house, although zach was only fixed in one of them.
tate, christina and gabbie. who the hell had invited gabbie?
at that moment, zach turned his eyes to another part of the room because he didn't want to see how jack looked at her, how he smiled back like he was a fool for her. like he was in love with her.
