emma had called her fifteen minutes ago to go home to help her because she and jonah were fighting again.

zach still didn't understand how she was going to forget him if emma was visiting him every day.

he opened the door of the house and frowned at not hearing emma and jonah's screams. whenever they fought they had to shout. he soon found her. she was in the kitchen kissing jonah, emma was sitting on the counter with her legs open while jonah held her hip with his hands.

zach cleared his throat to get attention and had to do it twice until they both realized he was there.

emma quickly broke away from jonah and got off the counter. "shit." she said looking at jonah and then zach. "i forgot to send you another message so you wouldn't come."

"emma." zach said menacingly.

two days ago emma couldn't stop crying because of jonah and now she is forgiving him as if that was nothing? zach was not in agreement.

"it's not what you think," emma said quickly.

"well, i don't know what else it could be," zach said annoyed. he turned to leave home again.

if he had come here it was to help a friend but after seeing that he didn't want to stay, and much less knowing that at any moment he could meet jack.

"wait." emma said running towards him and leaving jonah behind. "i'm really sorry, let me take my stuff and we talk outside."

he clenched his jaw but then nodded. "where are your stuff?"

"i left my bag in the living room."

emma opened the living room door when they arrived and looked at zach with frightened eyes because he approached from behind. then she closed the door again and stepped between zach and the living room. "i better take it another day.

"do not be silly, surely you have all the documentation there." zach said trying to reach the door but emma got in between. "what's wrong with you?" he asked with a frown.

emma tried to stop him again but annoying zach managed to push her away without harming her. zach opened the door and stood still looking at the sofa.

jack was looking at gabbie, she was turning her back to zach. from the position where he was, it was almost impossible for either of them to see zach.

i don't like to see them together, that's a fact, it makes my chest ache because i'm insecure, more now that i know she wants him in her life, zach thought.

zach would be less bothered if they weren't so close, after all, gabbie was her friend and zach knew he couldn't become one of those jealous boys who control everything his boyfriends do, right?

and he's not my boyfriend, but i want to try, zach told himself.

the brunet boy took a step to greet him, but he was stuck on the ground when gabbie threw herself at jack and kissed him.

zach felt as if a bullet went through him, he couldn't stop staring, even knowing he was torturing himself. he took a deep breath because he saw that gabbie was the one who threw herself at jack and waited for him to push her, or move her or reject her. bur he didn't do any of that.
