You stiffened against him, trying to wiggle away from his grasp despite the firm arm wrapped around your waist. Any time his skin touched yours you felt that damn flurry of warmth and the tingle of harmless sparks.

At this point, it was the middle of the morning and he was still sound asleep.

"Alduin," you muttered, jolting a bit to attempt to rouse him from his slumber. "Wake up."

Nothing.

"Wake up," you hissed once more, to which you were met with a pair of ruby red eyes flickering open.

The Atmoran man scowled. "Why did you wake me?"

"Explain to me what the hell happened last night," you demand.

He sighed. "You are my mate."

"What the hell does that mean?" you barked.

"It means this," his hand went flat against your stomach, sending that rush of tingles once more, "and this."

He nuzzled his nose into your neck, moving his face so his teeth lightly skimmed across the skin. Your breath hitched, stomach dropping and flipping as your face flushed.

He chuckled. "Even someone like me cannot resist it. The females of my kind have long since died out- it is a privilege to even have a mate. However, you, little dovah, anger me easily. You also hate me."

"And you hate me," you muttered.

The man paused. "I am not sure."

"But-"

"Quiet, little one," he sighed.

There was a short pause.

"Why you so much less aggressive than earlier?" you murmured.

"I am finding it difficult to be... Aggressive towards you."

You scowled. "I fucking hate this already."

He chuckled softly.

"Can you let me go?" you questioned impatiently.

His arm did not move.

"Alduin," you warned.

Red eyes glimmered with amusement. "Your shout wore off, Dovahkiin."

You rolled your eyes. "Please let me go," you offered spitefully.

He made a deep hum in the back of his throat.

"I think not."

"Seriously?"

"Yes," he affirmed, grinning. "I don't think I will let you go."

"I'm hungry!" you barked.

Alduin paused.

"Fine. Make me food as well, little dovah."

"Go suck your own dick," you growled, scooting away the second his arm released you.

He scowled, watching as you picked up a robe, tied it, and stormed out of the room. A near-silent growl left his throat. It was lucky he was playing nice for now, letting you come to terms before he stopped letting you act like the dominant one.

Deciding it wasn't worth his time trying to calm you down, he rolled over to your side of the bed, taking in the scent you left.

A humming noise started vibrating from his throat, the scent pleasing some sort of him apparently. The quiet, echoing noise of a cupboard being thrown shut reached his ears.

Alduin laughed to himself- you really were a spitfire. Either way, the angrier you'd get, the calmer he would become. He was starting to accept this situation- it wasn't as bad as he once thought.

Getting on your nerves certainly was entertaining to watch, at the least.

You were appealing enough physically, he supposed. Then again, he'd really only ever had the change to study you, so he didn't really know.

Not like he cared, though. He was still a dovah in his heart-  all dragons looked much alike.

There was a sharp flicker of warmth in his left hand and not even a second later the sharp bark of a curse rang across the house, making him scowl.

You were just prone for hurting yourself at this point.

First, you were nearly freezing to death, and now, you were burning fingers.

His mate; a Dragonborn who constantly (and accidentally) injured themselves.

Seemed fitting being your quick-to-anger personality. Honestly, he'd met dragons nicer than you.

None had rivaled your temper, though. No one but himself.

And even that was quickly changing.

He shuffled in the bed, frowning.

It was so much more comfortable with you in his arms. It just felt empty now.

His keen ears picked up the quiet murmur of talk from the lower level, then the soft creak of stairs.

The door opened. He glanced up, raising a brow.

You scowled, flopping back on the bed. On the side he was previously on. "I hate mornings," was your muffled growl.

He chuckled, wrapping a long, muscled arm around you once again and pulling you closer.

"So it seems, little one."

You didn't fight against his touch, simply giving up for the moment and letting him have his way.

You shifted slightly, eyes flickering shut for a long moment before you yawned.

"I'm tired," you muttered.

"Then sleep."

You rolled your eyes, but indeed did shut your eyes, snuggling into the blankets.

He smirked.

Victory.

The new book is up! I think for that one, I'll only update for requests, because otherwise I'll be juggling a ton of stuff between both books.

Anyway, thanks for the request!

Part 3?

I'm tired, man.
