You whipped around in your new environment, scrambling to your feet as you tried to catch your breath. A dark, heavy fog curled into the air around you, blocking a clear view of your surroundings save the grass you stood on. Your breathing, once quick and rushed, soon evened out when you calmed.

A scowl rippled across your face, the fear long gone. Of course, this realm of pure insanity would tick off your nerves within seconds. At least with that cannibal prince you didn't have to go to an entirely different plane. No, this was not what you expected when you'd signed up for this.

"Welcome," a chuckling voice rang out. You looked around, but you could not find the source of the voice. "What a pleasure, ____."

The prince's voice was a hum, cheerful with the slightest hint of malice. It sent shivers down your spine, something not even Molag Bal could do.

You frowned. "Sheogorath, I presume."

A silhouette dusted across far in front of you- a man, tall with a staff of some sort. You narrowed your eyes, heart racing in your chest as footsteps echoed closer. Excitement mingled with fear in your stomach.

"Of course, how would it not be me?"

The feeling of a hand on your neck, cold and warm at the same time made you jump. His laughter bubbled out soon after, now fully visible in front of you.

"I have a hip bone from one of your servants," you started, trying to get back on task, "what do I do with it now?"

Sheogorath hummed a tune, a smile playing on his thin lips. His cat-like yellow eyes gazed you up and down lazily. "You aren't a good person, are you? Madder than a madman, if I may say so. Oh, that is just me rambling, isn't it? Ha-ha!"

"Why am I here?" you grounded out.

He shook his head, now pouting as he looked at you. "I can't say. Maybe you just want to become a champion to another prince, maybe you are bored, maybe you want company. Quite excellent company, I must say."

Your fingers clenched the fabric of your sleeve and toyed with it, eyes following every dramatic gesture and expression from the man.

He grinned. "You want to see death. You want to see torture. I know, I know, I shouldn't have taken it from your mouth, but how am I to resist?"

You took a step back. He took three steps forward, white hair falling to his face as he looked down at you, a finger coming to trace your chin with interest. He seemed calmer than you had expected, though it was clear he was still out of his mind.

How did he know your tastes?

"You are not like other princes," you forced out.

"Maybe, maybe not. I don't think they enjoy cheese as much as I do," Sheogorath winked, abruptly moving to take your arm and lock it with his as he started to lead you. "Do you like cheese?"

"I'm inclined to say yes."

"Well, good, little murderer!"

You glared. "I am not an amateur in what I do, Sheogorath."

"Oh, I just said that to get you mad, darling!" he cackled, "I know how you like your innocents."

"Dead and gutted," you said quietly.

He sniggered. "You torture soldiers for a living, doll. Your words underestimate your work."

You raised a brow. "Do they?"

"I'm positive," the prince responded cheerfully. "You are a child of madness, my dear, just not the nice kind. You drown in your death much the same as I do insanity."

You merely raised a brow. "If you insist. We are similar, then."

"Oh, wouldn't you like to know," the man chuckled, taking you for a sharp left turn. "For some reason, your presence has calmed me. I can tell I have mellowed you out as well. From this day on, I hereby declare we are partners in crime. You are my champion- I do not have to even test you of it. I can feel it; the calculating, meticulous manner you have about your pleasures. I know only frantic and hurried frenzies."

"That was what I had assumed you would be like," you raised a brow. "I am surprised you have not tried to kill me yet."

"You are a very pretty specimen, my dear. That would simply be a waste of both mind, soul, and body."

"So you will not kill me."

His quiet growl was unexpected. "I will not."

"Fair enough," you chuckled.

His fingers, long, thin, but surprisingly strong, wrapped around your bicep harshly. "And if you keep tempting me, you might never leave here."

Your face slammed into cold indifference the moment you heard his snarling words. Quickly, his entire demeanor and attitude shifted.

"Though I think you might enjoy that! I'll have you know, my realm is one of the best! I won't keep you here for long if that does happen! Only a few centuries!" he said with a wide grin, a bounce in his step and lightness in his voice.

You sent him a curious look. "Possessive, are you, Sheogorath?"

"I don't share well," he answered simply.

"Won't I die here within a few decades, though?" you pointed out. He scoffed.

"You will live as long as I want you to, little cheese!"

"I am not cheese."

"Now you are!"

"Fine."

I got a nose spray and meds and things will be healing up soon so hopefully I'll be able to hear out of my right ear by Monday, if not sooner! Had to run my butt off today, too.

Was not fun, let me tell you. Elven minutes for a mile.

Not great, but not awful. I've had worse, I've had better.
