Chapter 23

It's finally here! The party. I've never been the girl to go to parties, I show up once or twice, but I'm not a major fun of them, but as I pack my bags for the upcoming one week vacation in which the party will be hosted in the process, I can't hide my excitement. I place my bag at the corner side of the room and take a shower. After the shower, I pick a comfortable outfit since I'm going to be riding with Jason and his friends, Avery and Isaac. Riding with boys alone, I smile to myself, this is going to be fun. I choose my halter neck colour crop top with waist ringer shorts.

I pair the look with my floral sneakers and decide to do no makeup. I put my hair into a bun and put on my silver sunglasses.

I spray on some perfume and pick up my duffel bag and phone.

I get down the stairs and when I see my little sister, I immediately want to break into tears. I am a tough girl, different and highly unique. No doubt, but when it comes to my sister, I am a big softie. During this past week, I have bonded unconditionally with her, spending more time with her, going for countless shopping, spas, hair do's and so many more. As I pick her up, I can't help but let a tear or two slip, but I wipe them away as quickly as it came

"I love you and I'll miss you, I promise" I whisper

I place her back to continue playing as I hug my dad

"I'll miss you dad"

"You're talking like you're going for fifteen years, you'll be back within a week, where's the different baby I gave birth to?" he hugs and whispers a 'come soon'

As you know my relationship with my mom is not a goodie goodie, so I tell my dad to pass on the message, she's not at home afterall if not I would have personally told her. I make my way out and see Jason leaning against the hood of his car.

"Hey" I greet

"Well you look sexy mamacita, do you wanna kill me?"

"Well maybe I want to" I reply, flirting back.

He chuckles as he places the luggage in his car boot and takes a seat at the driver's side.

"Hey guys" I greet when I see the two boys sitting at the back

"Hey Dakota, heard so much about you, apparently your bestie here can't just shut up about you you know, I'm Isaac" he introduces and I chuckle at the part where Jason can't shut up or whatever

"Well Isaac how about I call you Izzy?" I ask and I see Jason stiffen a little

"Love that"

"I'm Avery, and Isaac here is correct, please tell me where you went to take the spells from, I need some for my girlfriend. He even told me to move go the backseat. Can you imagine?" he says with a short laugh, clearly enjoying the way he's taunting his friend

I chuckle at their words and cock a brow at Jason

"So Jay Jay, are they correct? Seriously, I knew you had a secret crush on me" I tease, playing along

"I-I-"

"It's fine, I understand, I'm amazing and extremely hot, I know" I wink at him and chuckle along with his friends while Jay puts on a scowl

These people are making me laugh a lot.

Since everyone has something to do, I pick my phone and connect it to the car stereo, scrolling through my playlist, I put on Love Story by Taylor Swift.
