~Reader - one week later~

I woke up this morning warm and comfortable. It seemed as though I've been sleeping more sound these last few weeks. Ever since I moved in with Levi, I've felt less stressed. Maybe it's the feeling of having someone else in the house that makes me more relaxed. Just knowing that I'm never really on my own. There was still the lingering thought in my mind that maybe this couldn't last forever. After all, it was only meant to be temporary until I found my own place.

But how there's the fact that Levi and I were in a weird relationship limbo. It hasn't been very long since things moved from simple roommates and friends to something more. However it had slowed since then. We would occasionally hold hands or sit close to each other on the couch, but it never really got past that. I was too afraid of making him uncomfortable that I never took it further. But I wasn't really complaining either. I knew he had some mental barriers he needed to get past and I was happy to go slow. That never stopped my heart from racing when he did something attractive though. Unfortunately for me, that happened to be most things.

After our date a week ago, I've been too nervous to ask Levi about taking things further. He already knew my feelings about him but I had yet to get a real response. We were both busy with work at different times and never got much of an intimate moment to talk about our relationship. But it seemed that my opportunity has finally come.

A thick layer of clouds covered the sky and made my room dark. The light sound of rain drifted on a breeze through my cracked window. It was mid-morning or so. I knew Levi would have been awake for a few hours now, and I had a feeling I would find him either cleaning or reading somewhere. I walked downstairs in my pajamas and found the house silent. When I peeked into the kitchen I didn't see Levi, however I did find a kettle and box of tea bags on the counter.

"Evidence." I whispered with thoughtful seriousness. I resisted the urge to nod sternly like a detective.

The house itself wasn't that big so the number of rooms he'd be in was limited. I could already see he wasn't in the main room. But something through the front window caught my eye. I decided to grab some warm clothes and a blanket to investigate the porch.

Levi sat on the cushioned bench with a blanket over his lap and a book in his hands. A cup of still steaming black tea sat in his well-loved mug on the table beside him. Outside the shelter of the roof, light rain peppered the grass and sidewalk. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and reading glasses. I also noticed that he hadn't yet tamed his hair from sleep. I instantly felt heat rising to my face despite the cool air.

"Good morning." I said quietly as not to disturb him too much. Unsurprisingly, he wasn't startled in the slightest. His book relaxed in his hands when he turned his head up to look at me,

"Hey." His voice was warm and rough from sleep as well. It sent a wave of heat over me, settling in the bottom of my stomach.

"Can-can we talk?" I clutched my blanket around my shoulders nervously and focused my eyes on the raindrops hitting the sidewalk.

Levi took a moment to respond, but he eventually nodded with a, "Sure." He gestured for me to sit next to him on the bench and I carefully took my seat.

"So, how are you?" I decided to start simple and try to ease into the conversation. Levi raised an eyebrow skeptically. "What." I frowned.

"I'm fine? What's this about? You clearly need to tell me something." His stern eyes bore into my face and I felt myself get a little antsy. But I had to get this over with.
