3 months later

My eyes flutter open at the sound of my cell phone ringing.

I pick it up from the floor where it was charging, and I answer it.

"Hello?" I answer groggily.

"Hey beautiful." a low husky voice says.

I smile at the voice, it was James. We didn't quite date, but we had a thing.

"What's up?" I ask.

"Well I was wondering if it was okay if I brought you lunch today I don't have school today." James asks politely.

"That would be perfect." I say quietly.

"Okay what time do you eat?"

"12:20. Thank you so much." I say smiling.

"I'll be there, get up and go to school loser."

"You have lunch to buy me so stop antagonizing me." I say hanging up the phone.

After Daniel and I's kiss, we seemed madly in love. We walked back to the concert talking about how to break the bad news to Natalie. Along the way he kissed me on the forehead, and occasionally on the neck, and lips.

I didn't care that Natalie had the picture, we were going to make it work. But I didn't tell Daniel because I knew he would flip and just everything wouldn't work.

The next morning we get to school holding hands, but when we see Natalie in the hall we immediately pull away.

She soon came up to talk to us and I guess we were both cowards, because we never told Natalie about us.

And it continued like this, Daniel still dated Natalie, and I was on my own, well with Kennedy.

I told her all of my problems, and she was the best supporter there was. She also helped me meet James, the gorgeous football player from Jefferson Southwest.

My conversations with Daniel started becoming rare, until soon we barely said hi to each other in the hall.

But my relationship with James flourished. It was like a new adventure everywhere, he had new ideas on where to go every time I hung out with him. Hanging out with him was amazing, something Daniel could never give to me.

My feet crunch on the February snow beneath me as I walk into school.

I walk to my locker, I open it and start unpacking my books from over the weekend.

"So I heard James is bringing you lunch today?" Kennedy asks smiling.

I blush and shake my head.

"You guys are so gonna date! Thanks to me." Kennedy says flipping her hair.

I didn't know why Kennedy wasn't popular, she was so cool, and if she just took off her glasses and added some makeup she would be gorgeous.

"Shut up." I say punching her jokingly in the shoulder.

I turn around to go to my class right when Daniel and Natalie walk past me, something had changed about them.

They seemed more cold and shut off, but still loving at the same time.

Daniel gives me a weak smile, I just smile back, but it wasn't one of those happy smiles, I smiled like I was forced to. Natalie purses her lips together and glares at me.

"Wow that's awkward." Kennedy says when they pass.

"So you guys haven't really had feelings for each other since that concert?" Kennedy asks.

"I mean I guess we had feelings for each other, but not like we could show them, they eventually passed."

Kennedy nods and we head to class, the day goes by fast and soon I get a call from the office that I have a guest.

I walk into the office and I hug James, he was much taller than me, but I still like hugging him.

"What'd you get me?" I ask like a child.

"Patience young one, you'll see when we get to the lunchroom." James says holding the food behind his back.

His light brown hair was spiked up in the front, I looked into his green eyes and I glared at him.

He smiled and we started walking.

"You don't know where you're going dumb ass." I say crossing my arms.

"Lead the way then." James says smiling.

I smile, shake my head, then I start going to the cafeteria.

Once we arrive to the cafeteria I find a table that I sit with some of my new friends and Kennedy.

I wasn't bullied anymore, but I wasn't popular, I was just average.

"Okay here it is, macaroni and cheese." James says giving me a bowl from Panera, and some bread.

I squeal out of happiness. I pick up the bowl and I start eating.

James coughs and looks at me.

"Oh right! Thank you so much!" I say throwing my arms around him.

"No problem." James says laughing.

Everyone around the table says "aw".

"You two are too cute." My friend April says.

I smile and blush, and I sense that James is doing the same thing.

I was just about to say something when I see Daniel entering the lunchroom and his eyes were on mine, he was looking at James too confused. He starts to head over to our table. I start to panic, I don't even know why I wasn't 'cheating' on Daniel, we barely even talked anymore.

By the time Daniel arrives at our table, my heart was going crazy.

"Hey Jenna, who's this? I've never seen him around." Daniel says smiling, but there was coldness in his voice.

"I'm James." He says.

"Hey James! So are you guys dating?" Daniel asks as nice as possible.

"Um what would you classify us as Jenna?" James asks smiling.

For some reason I felt like I had to get revenge on Daniel, I knew this was stupid.

"I thought we were dating." I say smiling.

"Okay good me too." James says.

Thank you so much James.

Daniels face floods with anger for a split second.

"Yeah me and Jenna have a pretty good history." Daniel says bending down to kiss me on the neck.

"Remember those kisses, we used to give each other?"

"Dude what the hell?" James asks gripping his chair.

"Daniel a word." I say clenching my teeth together.

"Of course queen. Remember that? And the teasing, and oh my gosh that groan of yours!" Daniel says as I pull him away, I pull him all the way out in the deserted hallways.

"Daniel explain." I command.

"What, explain what?"

"Why did you just tell all that stuff to my boyfriend?"

"Jenna I was just playing around." He says laughing.

"No, that was not just playing around. You were jealous, you were jealous. When you have your own stupid girlfriend, stop being a hypocrite. We have nothing anymore so don't even bother."

Daniel takes a step back.

"I broke up with Natalie today."
