I close my eyes and imagine I'm on a mountain. The wind blows around me, and everything's peaceful. I block out the music from the car, the excessive talking, and the warmness of the air. I'm on a cold, isolated mountain, Mount Everest. I'm away from the all the problems, alone, and free.

My eyes snap open, Chase's warm hand shakes my shoulder.

"What do you want?" He asks.

"Uh, a chocolate milkshake." I say pulling my knees up to my chest.

"We'll take a cheeseburger, a small chocolate shake, and uh- Brooke what do you want?" Chase asks turning towards her in the backseat.

Brooke flirts with Alec, as his hand rests uncomfortably on her upper thigh.

"I'll have a blueberry pomegranate smoothie." Brooke replies still smiling at Alec.

"And a small blueberry pomegranate smoothie." Chase says leaning his head out of his car window.

"A cheeseburger, small chocolate shake, and a small blueberry pomegranate smoothie. Is that all?" The girl says over the speaker.

"Yep."

"Okay you're food will be at window one."

Chase pulls up to the window. He turns up the music again, and takes my hand as I lean my head on the window.

I glance over at Chase as we wait in the long line, at least for 1 a.m. I quickly redirect my attention to the sky, there are a few stars, but not many.

Soon I feel a pair of soft lips pressed against my hand. They linger there for quite a bit.

"I thought we were trying to be just friends." I say quietly, looking over at Chase.

"Jenna, I've been thinking about that." Chase says biting his lower lip.

"And what were your conclusions?" I ask curiously.

"You're here for the summer, and we're already about a month into it." Chase begins looking me in the eye. "I would take my sweet time with you, but there's not a lot of time left. I think we should just see how everything works out, if it ends out bad then that's that. But if we end up in love, then we're in love."

I process the information, never taking my eyes off of Chase's, or my hand out of his.

Maybe Chase is right, I'm not looking for a long relationship. Maybe I just need a summer lover, but I can't just go back to Daniel. If I don't end things with Chase right now, I won't allow myself to go running back to Daniel.

I take a deep breath and stare into Chase's hopeful blue eyes, they calm me, and let me think straight.

"You're right, we'll give us a try." I breath out.

Chase leans in so his nose is touching mine, just when our lips brush together we're interrupted by a honk.

We both laugh as Chase drives up to the window.

"A cheeseburger, chocolate shake, and a blueberry pomegranate smoothie." The girl says at the drive through.

"Thank you." Chase says passing the drinks to Brooke and I.

Chase pays the lady, and parks in a parking space. We eat and drink in peace, letting the loud music take away our worries.

"Alec, do you have weed?" Chase asks after awhile.

"Is that a question?" Alec asks pulling a bag out of his pocket, or more scarily, his pants.

"Jenna Smith I would fucking bang you if you asked." Chase laughs.
