3 months later

"Graduation! Graduation! Graduation!" Is what I hear in the early month of May.

Everyone is making their best effort to make the next sixteen days the seniors best. So that means we all have to keep our best attitude, but I couldn't do it. The seniors were my least favorite every year, treating the under class men like shit.

James is a senior, I was excited, he would let me be free my senior year. Until he announced college wasn't in his future, I knew he was staying back for me. He was staying back to torture Daniel, but mostly me.

He kissed me in every spare moment, and even brought up the idea of sex, I told him if he made me do it with him I would leak the picture myself.

I know the summer doesn't hold a good future, Daniel still refusing to talk to me after he figured out I "left him" for James. Kennedy made new friends, most from different schools. That left me with James, Samantha, and Natalie. Samantha got a boyfriend who she spent every waking hour with.

Natalie forced her way into James and my "love life". She often went to mandatory movie dates with us.

"Hey babe." Kennedy says catching up with me in the hall.

"Hey." I mumble.

"You've been down lately." She says wrapping an arm around my shoulder.

"I'm aware."

"Well summers so close I can smell it, and I think we should go on a vacation together, somewhere to get away."

"I really would, but my mom wouldn't let me, and I'm sure James would miss me." I say stopping my 1st hour glass, English.

"If you change your mind let me know." She says skipping off.

I enter the classroom, turning in my A+ homework, then sitting in my seat at the back of the room.

Daniel sits down next to me, his assigned seat. He puts in his earphones blaring his music like every class.

The bell rings and the teacher starts talking.

"Since summer is so close, and some of you rarely even talk to your shoulder parter, I've assigned you an assignment on them."

Daniel takes out one of his earphones at this.

"You will interview your shoulder partner then write a three paged essay on them, and yes this does include you getting together with them out of school" The teacher says handing out the rubric.

I look over at my shoulder partner, or my neighbor, but I already know it's Daniel.

"Partner?" I ask smiling.

He rolls his eyes, clenches his jaw, then puts his earphone back in. Sadness takes over my body, the way it always does when I'm around him now. My insides want to explode, I miss him more than I could miss anything, I miss him kissing me and smiling at me like I was perfect.

"Get started!" The teacher says sitting back down at his desk.

"Um, well we should start from the top." I say.

Once I see Daniels not paying attention, I say it louder, still nothing.

I rip out one of his earphones.

"We need to start." I say.

He just stares at me, his dark eyes fierce. He bites his lower lip, then sighs.

"Fine. When were you born?" He asks grabbing a pen and paper angrily.

"1998, my birthdays-" I start but Daniel interrupts me.
