Both of them snapped out by Sharpshot, Hiccup's trained Terrible Terror, outside their window, bringing letters.
Hiccup stood up and grab the letters. He read them along with Astrid. "Looks like I need to go find some herbs. Don't worry, I'll be back in 30 minutes.." Astrid nodded and he rush down calling Ruffnut to accompany Astrid while he's gone.
Then, he went off with Toothless. He search for the herbs and found them real quick. But then, on the way home, he heard whimpering noises of baby dragons.
He got off Toothless and spotted 2 baby dragons trapped under tumbling rocks. It took him 10 minutes to figure out a way in freeing them. Once they were free, Hiccup brought them back to Berk.
Astrid was panic at home. "Where is he? He should've been home by now.." She stood up and Ruff hold her.
"Whoa hey.. You're not going out. He told you to stay here. If I remembered.." Ruffnut said.
"How can I just stay here and calm down while he's out there and not coming back?" Astrid pointed out to the window.
"Oh sweet mother of Thor. Of course he's coming back.. You should just stay here and wait patiently." Ruff told her to sit down.
"What if he doesn't?!?" She shouted. "Astrid, you're thinking nonsense.. If he said he's coming back then he will come back." Ruff tried to calm her down. "You should think about the baby."
Astrid felt pain on her tummy but she ignored it and waited for Hiccup.
•• A few minutes after ••
Hiccup showed up. He got off Toothless and give the baby dragons to Valka. He brought the herbs to Gothi, the elderly.
"Oh look who's back. You happy now?" Ruffnut rolled her eyes. Astrid look out through the window and ran down, heading towards Hiccup.
"Hiccup! Where have you been? What took you so long?" Astrid hug him tight.
"Whoa.. Did I miss something here?" Hiccup hug her back and asked Ruff who's following in the back of her.
"Nah. She just miss you so much.. My job is done here. Need me? Call me.." Ruff said walking back home.
"What happened?" He asked her. She shook her head and felt the pain coming back. She held her tummy and cried.
"Whoa what happened? Are you hurt? Let's go home.." Hiccup carried her home and lay her on the bed. She closed her eyes and start moving, still holding the pain then, she squealed.
Hiccup seeing her, went downstairs and called Gothi. She came in and check on Astrid. Then start to write on a piece of paper.
'Very bad pains, more coming soon. Don't panic. Normal for a mother. Use mix herbs to ease them.'
Hiccup understood and immediately went down to the kitchen while Gothi leave. He mix some herbs and brought them upstairs to give it to Astrid.
He turn Astrid's body and said, "Come on.. You got to drink this. It'll help easing the pain."
Astrid shook her head and tried to sleep, still holding the pains. "Astrid, come on. You know how much I don't like to force you.. I just don't want to see you suffer in pain."
She kept shaking her head and held her tummy. Hiccup look at her and tried to move her in a right position to drink but she always move her body. He started to freaked out. "Ugh.. That's it. I'm calling for help." He went down to find Ruff and Valka.
The three of them went upstairs and look at her. "Oh dear." Valka said. "Mom, Ruff, I need you to hold her body straight for me to open her mouth and let her drink this.." Hiccup said seriously. Astrid look at him. It was the first time she saw him mad.
Hiccup gave her a stare and tears start falling from her eyes.
"Okay.. Come on.. Let's go." He said. Valka and Ruff came up the bed and held her body straight as Hiccup have told them. Astrid start moving but she can't move a single step.
Hiccup sat beside her. "I'm sorry. But this is for your own good.." He held the cup and put his other hand on her chin. He force open her mouth and pour the drink.
Valka and Ruff let go of her once she swallow it. She sat up immediately, started to choke and cough then, she glance at Hiccup.
"Thanks for the help." He said. Valka and Ruff nodded and leave.
Astrid stared at him, shook her head and wipe her tears. He look at her and at the cup. She breath heavily and hug her knees.
Hiccup put the cup on the bedside table and crawled next to her. "Look. I'm sorry.. For the force and everything."
Astrid kept quiet and start to sob. "You know how much I don't like to force you, but you gave me no choice. I bet you hate being forced.. But please understand. I don't want to see you suffer out of it.." He explained and pull her towards him.
She hug him and cried. He rub her back and kiss her head. "I'm sorry, Astrid.. For everything. The stare, the force. Everything."
"No. I'm sorry.. I should've just-" She started to cry. "Shh.. It's okay. Calm down. It's not your fault. Okay? I should've know that you hate herbs.." He tried to calm her down.
"I don't hate herbs." She look up at him. Hiccup raised an eyebrow. "You don't?" She explained. "I just don't like it sometimes.. Especially when you force me to."
"Hey.. I said I'm sorry." He chuckled and she smiled. He wiped her tears and place his hand on her face. She close her eyes. "I'm sorry. Okay?" He said for the last time. Astrid nodded and fell asleep.
