"Grunkle Stan, you know this is probably a scam right?" Dipper asked.
The Pines family and Soos got out of Stan's car at the Mini Golf Kingdom.
"I mean, you still have to pay to get in to the mini golf place so we could just go buy..."
"Quiet Dipper; don't ruin the idea of your sister kicking all these losers' butts and winning us food." Stan ordered.
"Haha zing!" Mabel said.
Dipper frowned and pulled Mabel aside.
"Why would you even want to be back here after... You know." Dipper questioned.
He was thinking back to a week or so ago when Mabel and Pacifica Northwest had had their 'golf war.' He and Mabel had discovered little people that lived in the holes and controlled where the golf balls went.
"Oh c'mon Dipper! Just forget about those weird little people and let's have some fun tonight! You just have too much on your mind what with the triangle guy and stuff."
"I guess..."
"Now hurry before the line gets too long!"
Mabel grabbed her brother's arm and pulled him after Stan and Soos, who were in line for tickets. When they finally got into the mini golf park, the twins saw that there were already plenty of people golfing. Most of them were half way through their games or almost done, so they didn't have to wait at the first few holes.
A few hours later, the scores had been tallied up and Mabel won. She had once again gotten a perfect game, with the exception of the last hole. (Mabel was convinced the golf people caused it to happen to get revenge.) The Pines family had been awarded with two pizzas, drinks for them all, and ice cream afterward.
"So maybe this food did cost more than the mini golf..." Dipper admitted, chewing a bite of pizza.
"And it was tons of fun Dipper! Tonight was awesome! I got to kick all your butts in mini golf!" Mabel exclaimed, licking her ice cream.
"Hey I almost beat you." Dipper pointed out.
"Did not! You lost by like thirty points!"
"It wasn't that many."
"Dipper we all know Mabel is the best at mini golf; stop trying to prove otherwise." Stan said.
"HEY-O! Mabel rules!" Mabel exclaimed.
"We should give her, like, a mini golf crown or something!" Soos suggested.
"Yes! And then the world will know my importance!" Mabel exclaimed, jumping to her feet.
Dipper smiled at his sister's fantasy and everyone laughed. Mabel sat down again and yawned, leaning her head on Dipper's shoulder. Soos nudged Stan with his arm and motioned towards Mabel.
"Well, judging by Mabel's yawning, I presume it's time to go." Stan said, as Soos pulled Mabel up.
Stan walked over to the mini golf exit and stuck multiple Mystery Shack signs to it before following Soos, Dipper, and Mabel out the gate.
"Alright we should go before the staff finds out I advertised all over their mini golf park. Let's move!" Stan shouted.
Stan jumped behind the wheel of his car and hit the gas. The car sped off, but not before knocking over a mini golf ball and club statue. In Dipper's mind, it was the Summerween Super Store all over again.
Back at the Mystery Shack, Mabel was sound asleep in her bed, but Dipper was staring at the ceiling of the dark room. The medallion, which was previously on the night stand, was now in a box under Dipper's bed. He couldn't sleep without looking at it.
Finally deciding that simply putting the medallion under his bed wasn't helping, Dipper slipped out of bed with a pillow and blanket and went up to the roof. It was a pleasant night; a soft breeze was blowing and the moon was a silver sliver in the navy blue sky.
Curling up against the cool shingles on the roof, Dipper spread the blanket over him and put the pillow behind his head. He closed his eyes, starting to drift off to dream land, when suddenly he was snapped back awake by a familiar laugh. The world around him was again in black and white.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm baaaaaack!"
