"So that's that... I'm surprised he didn't try to rip out my teeth or something from that trick I played." Mabel said in a silly voice.

"I'm glad he didn't hurt you, so let's leave it at that. The last thing we want is to suddenly remind Bill about it and then he hurts you or worse." Dipper said.

"What could be possibly worse than hurting me? Just thinking out loud here."

Mabel gave her brother a sheepish grin and Dipper sighed.

"I could think of a few things." Dipper pointed out.

Though Dipper never told her what he was thinking, Mabel let the subject drop. The twins knew each other extremely well. They could tell if one of them was being serious or silly, and they could especially tell when the other didn't want to discuss something. This was one of those cases; Mabel could tell Dipper didn't want to talk about 'all the things that were worse than being hurt' with her.

"Well, I suppose that means the quest for Journal 1 continues." Mabel said.

"Did you discover anything this past week?" Dipper asked.

"Uh... Well there was this one... Yeah, I didn't learn anything. I even had Soos to help me!"

Dipper sighed.

"This is going to be harder than I thought."

"Cheer up bro-bro! The Mystery Twins are reunited, there's still plenty of summer time left, and it's not like there's a deadline this time." Mabel said optimistically.

Dipper smiled at his sister who stuck out her tongue and made a goofy face in his direction. The two of them laughed and then made their way to the kitchen. Soos was there still from when Bill had made him leave.

"So dudes how'd it go?" Soos asked. "The evil triangle guy isn't gonna, I don't know, replace your eyes with baby heads or something right?"

"No worries Soos. We got this all under control." Mabel answered brightly.

Soos noticed that Mabel was in a much better mood than over the previous week. Having her brother back safe and sound really did a number on her; Mabel was back to her goofy, silly self.

"Welp! I guess we better get some sleep. We'll have a long day of searching tomorrow." Mabel said.

"Searching for what?" Stan said, catching the end of Mabel's sentence as he came into the kitchen.

Stan's fez was sitting on his head, but he had taken off his jacket. Stan's dress shoes had been swapped for a pair of slippers.

"Uh nothing Grunkle Stan." Dipper blurted out.

"Why do I feel like you're lying? And why do you look so nervous? And anxious? Dipper..." Stan said.

"Uh, well you see..."

"I lost some tools outside today Mr. Pines. These dudes were going to help me find them tomorrow, bright and early before the tourists come around." Soos explained.

Stan shrugged.

"Fine by me." He said, and left to go watch TV.

As soon as the sounds of Baby Fights and Stan yelling 'Fight, fight fight!' could be heard, the twins turned happily to Soos.

"Thanks man. You really saved us back there." Dipper said.

"You mean he saved YOU." Mabel teased.

Dipper glared at his sister.

"Hey no problem dudes. I'll see you tomorrow." Soos said, giving the twins a thumbs up.

"Bye Soos!" Mabel said.

"G'night Soos." Dipper said.

Somewhere very far away...

"Sir we've found him. It's just like we predicted."

"Good work Commander. Round up the men; we're going back to Gravity Falls, July, 2012."

"Yes sir!"

The Commander saluted his leader and left the room. They hadn't found a lead on their target in decades. But now there were signs that he was back.

The Commander entered the lounge where most of the Co-Commanders would be.

"Gentlemen!" He called out.

The other men stopped what they were doing and turned to face the Commander. Food was abandoned, conversations had stopped, and cards were left face down on tables.

"Gather your troops and your energy guns. It's time..."
