Bill and Mabel had been exploring several suggested hiding spots in the woods, but to no avail.

"This is taking forever!" Bill exclaimed impatiently.

"Oh relax Dipper! It could take a lot longer than one day to find the Journals. It was pure chance you found the one you already have." Mabel said.

Bill frowned and narrowed his eyes at Mabel. The demon didn't like spending hours on end wandering and getting nothing accomplished.

"She's right." Dipper spoke up. "I found the Journal by chance."

"What did I tell you earlier?" Bill hissed.

"Dipper are you talking to yourself?" Mabel asked.

"Uh, no. You must be hearing things." Bill said quickly, his cheeks flushing slightly in embarrassment.

"Haha Bill Cipher, the big bad Dream Demon, gets embarrassed by Mabel!" Dipper said joyfully.

Dipper knew Bill could probably cause him harm, but with Mabel around, there was nothing Bill could do to him that wouldn't arise suspicions. He couldn't even talk to Dipper now.

Bill clenched his fists in annoyance. He dug his fingers into the palms of Dipper's hands.

"Dipper I don't think I was hearing things, but I'll trust you." Mabel said with a shrug.

"Hey Mabel," Bill began, getting an idea, "whatever happened to Gideon's Journal?"

"Sorry, what?"

"Gideon had the second Journal, didn't he?"

"Yeah I think so."

Dipper began to understand what Bill was doing and he began to worry. If Bill figured out where the second Journal was, he'd only need the last one. The only bright side to this was that not even Dipper knew where Journal One was.

"Have you ever wondered what happened to it after Gideon was arrested?" Bill asked.

"I think Grunkle Stan kept it for some reason..." Mabel said, tapping her chin and thinking about the day they had defeated Gideon.

Just as she finished her sentence, rain drops began to tumble down from the darkening sky. The two of them had been so absorbed in their conversation they hadn't even noticed the grey clouds above the trees. Mabel took the umbrella from Bill and opened it, shielding herself and Bill from the rain that was coming down even faster and heavier now.

Mabel took Bill's hand and began running back the way they had come. The umbrella bobbed above their heads.

"Let's finish this discussion back at the shack!" Mabel called over her shoulder.

Bill smiled evilly. The next Journal would soon be in his grasp. This plan was going much better than he had expected.
