Chapter 18 - Ready to Make a Deal

Dipper shuffled his feet nervously. Making a deal with Bill was something he was wary of, especially after how he had been tricked before.

"What's the deal?" Dipper asked slowly.

Bill gave Dipper a curious look. The triangle was surprised that he was even considering a deal after their last one. Then again, his life was on the line and his sister could do with some hints.

"I'll give Shooting Star one of the Journals; in return, I want you to make a contribution."

Dipper raised an eye brow.

"What kind of contribution?"

"Your humanity; your soul." Bill said slyly.

"WHAT!? WHY WOULD I..."

"Let me finish kid." Bill said, cutting Dipper off. "I only need the tiniest piece of it; it won't even be enough to harm you in anyway."

Dipper rocked on his heels nervously. He could feel there was something hidden within the deal, but he wasn't sure what. But was it worth giving Bill a piece of his soul to get a Journal to Mabel? The deal seemed...

"Too unbalanced." Bill said, reading Dipper's thoughts. "Here's the thing kid, if you die, I can't get what I want. So that's where the deal is balanced."

"So if Mabel can't save me, you can't just take my soul?"

"No I can't." Bill said.

"What are you going to use it for?"

"All in time kid. Speaking of which, it's almost midnight." Bill said, his eye transforming into a clock.

Bill held out his right hand which became engulfed in blue fire. Dipper shuddered. That same fire had gotten him into this mess. But he had to help Mabel out in some way. If he didn't, the stress of not knowing where to look or what to do next would probably be her downfall.

Dipper took a deep breath and stuck his hand out to Bill. As their hands touched, a surge of warmth ran through Dipper's body, but just like before, the fire didn't burn him.

"Looks like we have a deal then Pine Tree. Well, time to go pay your sister a visit in her dreams!" The demon said joyfully.

"Can I see Mabel too?" Dipper asked quietly.

The triangle narrowed his eye, but agreed.

"But only tonight and your last possible night." Bill said.

Dipper nodded.

And with that, Bill grabbed Dipper's arm and teleported them over to Mabel's dream.

Dipper was honestly not at all surprised by Mabel's dreams. They were full of color, candy, and pretty much any mythical and adorable creature you could think of. Bill and Dipper found Mabel on a colored sugar beach, playing in the grape juice ocean with a gummy fish.

"Mabel!" Dipper yelled.

She turned in his direction. Upon seeing her brother, Mabel ran towards him, and engulfed Dipper in a hug.

"Dipper you're ok!" She laughed excitedly.

"Well he is for now." Bill said, breaking up the moment.

"You evil Isosceles triangular monster! What are you doing here? Get out of my head!" Mabel yelled, pulling Dipper to her side in a more protective hug.

"Haha relax Shooting Star. I come bearing gifts. Your brother was the first." Bill said casually. "This is the second."

Bill snapped his fingers and Journal number two appeared in his hand. He handed it to Mabel.

"To help you with saving your brother." The triangle said. "Now if you'll excuse us, I have an hour glass to flip."

Bill grabbed Dipper's arm again.

"No wait! Dipper!" Mabel said, trying to hold on to her brother.

Dipper gave Mabel one last quick hug and then Bill pulled him away.

When Dipper's eyes opened next, he was tiny again, and back inside the hour glass. But this time, he was in the bottom half, and sand was raining down on top of him.
