Mabel stared dissapointedly at the piece of paper she had taped to the wall above her bed. She had been keeping track of everything that had happened that week:
Sunday:
Convinced Soos to help; searched hiding spots in woods.
Bill = Not at all helpful
Monday:
Stan asked about Dipper. Soos came up with something apparently...
Bill = Still not at all helpful
Tuesday:
Asked around town. Nobody has seen a similar Journal, except the one Dipper always has.
Bill = Stupid, annoying, other insulting words
Wednesday:
Searched woods again.
Bill found out about the insulting words; punishment of nightmares
Thursday:
Stan acts super suspicious every time Journals are brought up...
Bill, I. HATE. YOU.
Friday:
No progress still. No leads. Nothing.
Bill, at this point I don't even care.
Saturday:
Last day; no hope left...
Bill = The Isosceles Monster that stole my brother
Mabel sighed. She had nothing left to do at this point. She and Soos had checked every spot the Journal suggested. They had talked to every person in town. There was nowhere left to look for Journal One. It was over; she'd lost.
Mabel felt tears begin to well in her eyes as she started to think of Dipper's fate.
"No. Mabel Pines you will not cry!" She told herself.
Mabel was getting sadder and sadder by the second, but she wasn't going to give Bill the pleasure of seeing her break down. She'd remain strong, for Dipper's sake.
Mabel glanced at the clock on the night stand. It was getting closer and closer to midnight. The female Pines twin had barely gotten any sleep that week. She was either searching for the Journal, or too worried about her brother. But no matter what, she always managed to fall asleep just long enough for Bill to check up on her. And as Mabel had stated in her notes, the triangle had been pretty useless. All he'd really done was come to taunt her or mock her.
With a sniffle, Mabel walked over to Dipper's bed and picked up his hat. She laid down in Dipper's bed and held his hat tightly over her heart, as if she were protecting it. Closing her eyes, Mabel prepared herself for sleep, another ecounter with Bill, and the last time she would see...
"No! It won't be the last time." Mabel told herself in her head.
Mabel had one little trick up her sleeve however. Grunkle Stan's illegal money duplicating skills had actually come in handy. If her plan worked, Mabel would have outsmarted the Demon that knows and sees all. But what were the odds of that?

Bill had watched Mabel throughout the week. With each day, and each failed attempt, Bill began to lose hope in the girl. To be honest, he was starting to like the Pines twins. Dipper was actually quite fun to talk to; well, when Bill hadn't ticked him off and they weren't yelling at one another. And Mabel, she was creative, clever, and funny.
These feelings were terrifying for Bill. How is it he had come to like thses kids? It was annoying, yet slightly comforting. Bill hated it.
The triangle turned to the hourglass, which he had floating in the Mindscape besides him. Dipper was almost completely covered in the sand. He was trying desperately to keep his head above the sand, but that was getting increasingly harder.
Bill noticed Mabel had fallen asleep. It was time to see if she had found the Journal. Yes Bill had been keeping an eye on her, but he didn't watch her 24/7. Who knows, she might have actually found the journal! Though her reaction just minutes before suggested otherwise.
Bill picked up the hour glass and teleported into Mabel's dreams.
"Hello Shooting Star." He said.
"I got it." She said.
Bill's eye widened in shock.
"Really?" The demon sounded almost joyful.
"Really. But I'm not giving it to you until you give me Dipper."
Bill considered her words.
"Show me the book first." Bill demanded.
Mabel hesitantly reached into her sweater pocket and pulled out Journal One. Bill snapped his fingers and the hour glass shattered. The glass pieces became little blue flames that swirled around Dipper, regrowing him to his normal size.
"Dipper!" Mabel yelled, running to her brother and engulfing him in a hug.
Dipper hugged Mabel tightly back.
"Don't mind me. The guy who's awaiting his payment." Bill said, pretending to examine his finger nails even though he didn't have any.
Mabel glared at the triangle and tossed the Journal to Bill. The demon caught it.
"Dipper. You need to wake me up. Now." Mabel hissed to her brother quietly so Bill wouldn't hear.
"Why?"
"Just do it!"
Dipper did as he was asked and started pinching Mabel's arms as Mabel tugged at her eye lids before slapping her own cheeks. When that didn't work, the twins conjured up a bucket of ice water. Dipper dumped it on Mabel's head quickly. Meanwhile, Bill was staring astonished at the Journal in his hands. He opened it, just as Mabel managed to wake herself up.
"YES!" Mabel cheered as she sat up, still on Dipper's bed.
Dipper sat up besides her, rubbing his eyes.
"Mabel why exactly did we need to leave so fast?" Dipper questioned.
"Because I just tricked a Dream Demon."
