Chapter 16 - A New Puppet

A/N

Hello guys! So you may be wondering, Phoenix! Why are you posting a chapter in the middle of the week like this? Well reader who may or may not be asking said question, I shall tell you. This is an extra chapter to celebrate Hanukah. Now I personally don't celebrate this holiday (I'm not religious at all to be honest) but this is a little gift for anyone who may be celebrating. Bill snapped his fingers and the medallion around Dipper's neck broke loose. It floated up and into Bill's open hand. The medallion was still triangle shaped, but it no longer had the Cipher symbol on it, it was pure white.

"Well Shooting Star; Pine Tree. It's been fun but you two are holding me back here. Though one of you could be helpful..." Bill said, tapping a finger to where his chin would be if he had one.

Dipper and Mabel sat on the ground, staring nervously at Bill. The triangle was slowly becoming his normal size and color.

Suddenly Bill's hand that held the medallion lit up with blue fire. The fire began to grow upward in a thin snake-like way. The fire suddenly lashed at Dipper and wrapped around his wrist.

"AH! Mabel help!" Dipper yelled as he was being dragged towards Bill.

"Dipper!" Mabel grabbed her brother's other arm, trying to pull him back towards her.

"Forget it Shooting Star! You can't win this." Bill said.

The blue fire pulled Dipper's arm harder; Mabel did too.

"Guys! You're going to rip me in half!" Dipper said nervously.

"Oh please. If I wanted to rip you in half I would've done it already." Bill said with a roll of his eye.

Suddenly another tentacle of blue fire sneaked around Dipper's back to where the arm was that Mabel had a grip on. It tickled under his arm, and Dipper jerked it out of his sister's grip as he laughed.

As soon as Mabel's grip was gone, Bill tugged Dipper all the way over to him. Then something peculiar happened; the medallion turned into an hour glass. The blue fire shrunk Dipper down so he could be considered bite-sized. Then Dipper was teleported inside the hour glass and the fire died.

"DIPPER! What did you do to my brother you evil Isosceles Monster!?" Mabel demanded.

"Look kid, all you and your brother have done is caused me trouble. So now I'm going to put us on the same side." Bill said mysteriously.

"What do you mean?"

Bill held up the hour glass and shook it, causing Dipper to stumble around inside.

"I mean, if you don't help me by the time all this sand runs out, well, your brother will be dead so I don't think you really have a choice." Bill said, twirling a cane which had appeared in his other hand.

"WHAT!?" Mabel shrieked.

"Yes you have a week to find the first Journal for me oooooooor... Well you know that already." Bill said calmly.

Mabel's eyes flicked to the hour glass. Dipper was inside, banging on the glass and shouting things she couldn't hear.

"But why would you trap Dipper? He's better at this than I am!"

"Don't you see Shooting Star? I can't have too much fun with the same old puppet."

"But I never made..."

"A deal with me. I control everyone in this town." Bill said. "Whether they like it or not. Just think of this as a test with a dire consequence if you fail."

"You're completely insane!" Mabel yelled, a tear forming in her left eye.

"Some people may think of me that way. I like to consider myself clever in the evilest ways possible."

Bill made his cane disappear and he tipped his hat to Mabel.

"Like I said, one week. I'll check up on you each night. Your time starts tomorrow morning, at exactly 12 o'clock AM; midnight." Bill said.

"Bill! I don't have any idea where the Journal could be." Mabel gave one more desperate attempt.

"Sorry kid. I'll see ya in your nightmares!" Bill said, somewhat chipper.

Then the triangle disappeared, with Dipper and the hour glass in hand.
