Chapter 32:
Romantic surprise

[Carly's POV]

Our vacation here in Vigan will be ending in 3 days time. We Skyped mom and dad this morning para naman makita at makausap nila si inang at amang. Sabi ni mom, halos lahat daw kami ay nagtabaan. Well we agreed on that, masarap kasi kumain lalo na kapag maraming kasalo.

We already had our shopping spree this afternoon - or more of a hoarding, I guess - of pasalubongs. Making reservations/ orders of our favorites - including bagnet and empanada - and pick it up the time we're supposed to leave.

"Mas malala to kesa sa trip natin sa Cebu." Narinig kong bulong ni Nami kay Amber. I remembered our trip to Cebu, they're somehow right. Mas marami kaming biniling pasalubong ngayon.

"Yeah, they seem to love all the food here kaya naman gusto nilang dalhin sa Manila. Mukhang ayaw nilang mamiss." Natatawang sagot ni Amber.

"Narinig namin yun!" Halos sabay-sabay naming sigaw.

Nagtawanan naman ang magpinsan. We also bought I ♥ Vigan shirts/ sandos and decided to wear it the day we're going back to Manila.

On our second to the last day here in Vigan, we decided to prepare a boodle fight again. Including all of my tito's, tita's and cousins.

Kuya Edmar - brother of ate Ehra - and tita Edna, wife of tito Albert, arrived from Hongkong before lunch and was glad to see me, ipinakilala ko naman ang friends at si babe sa kanila. They said na hindi raw makakarating si Kuya Edwin dahil busy pa ito.

Kuya Kier, son of tita Anna, brother of Kylie and Kishang also arrived from Baguio. Tito Kennedy is in Dubai so he can't come and join us.

Sinundo naman ni tito Alfred si John Rich sa lola nito sa kabilang bayan, ang kapatid ni JR at Wenang. Tita Julie was busy attending to her sick mother pero she'll try na humabol.

We're almost complete, parang mini reunion lang ng Arquelada family, though wala sila mom and dad. Masaya kaming nagtanghalian, talking about throwbacks as we eat. Sobrang nabusog ako pati rin sila babe.

We also spent our last 3 days here sa pamamagitan ng pagkuha ng maraming-maraming pictures together.

On our last night here in Vigan.. I already made my goodbyes at nagbilin na ako sa bawat taong maiiwan namin dito. Especially my amang and inang. I'm going to miss them a lot.

We are having a despedida party - bonfire style - prepared by ate Ehra and my cousins. We're all Indian-sitting in the 'verdant garden', as Amber calls it, of our ancestral home.

"So pano ba yan, uuwi na kayo bukas girls?" Si ate Ehra na isa sa pinakamamimiss ko.

"We're going to miss Vigan and of course every one here.." Sagot ni Nami.
