Gray was planning on confessing his feelings to Natsu. Natsu Dragneel. The idiotic and dense flame brain has somehow managed to capture Gray's heart.

Gray was standing outside the door of Natsu's house, ready to knock on the door any minute now.

Gray was trying not to seem nervous as he held the small Polaroid in his hands. It was a picture, an old one at that. Natsu and Gray were smiling, which wasn't usual for the two of them. Maybe Erza was there.

Gray was petrified. What if Natsu didn't like him back? He always kinda looked at Lucy with a bit of feeling. It was now or never.

Look, don't get me wrong

Gray lightly knocked on the door two times, hoping Natsu was home.

"Gray?" Came a voice.

Gray looked up to see Natsu's heavenly face. His perfect smile, his adorable salmon hair, his onyx eyes anyone could get lost in..

"Gray..?" The voice called again.

Gray snapped out of his love sick daze, and regained focus. "Hi, Natsu." He smiled.

Natsu opened the door, allowing Gray inside. "Why exactly are you here stripper?" Natsu asked, clearly annoyed by the ice mages presence.

Gray gulped. "Well..there's something I wanna tell you." He said hesitantly.

"Well go on then."

Gray took a few deep breathes before saying the 5 words that would change everything.

"I'm in love with you."

Natsu fell silent for a moment. He stared at Gray, confused at first but that look turned into annoyance.

Gray couldn't look at Natsu's face. Not when he had that look. He heard a little laugh, that turned into a chuckle, then hysterical laughter.

Gray looked up to see Natsu laughing his ass off, as if he had been told the funniest joke in the world. "That was a good one Gray. Tell me the real reason."

He didn't believe him? I mean, yeah they fought a lot and maybe had a couple disagreements here and there, but throughout the years how could he have not noticed?

Sure, Natsu was dense but Gray had made it quite obvious. Always directing his attention away from Lucy and other females, ignoring Juvia at all times just to see if Natsu looked in his direction, even going as far as to insult him, just have his eyes on Gray. He loved when Erza came to interrupt their fights. It was a bit annoying but he got to hug Natsu.

"I'm serious. Natsu Dragneel, I've been absolutely in love with you for who knows how long. I mean it with all my heart."

"Gray..."

Gray looked at Natsu, hope filled in his eyes. His fingers clutching the Polaroid.

"I don't feel the same way. I'm sorry."
