Advay's POV:

"Come in"

I looked up diverting my attention from the files to notice the presence that disturbed me.

"This is the file you asked for"

"I asked for the file, I did not ask you to bring it. You could've sent the file with someone", I said taking the file from her hands.

"I know, I just wanted to give it to you personally", Aadhya replied with a smile.

Wait, a smile?

I frowned, she won't smile, at least when we both are in the same room. Unless, she planned something to ruin my deal, again.

I shouldn't let her affect me like this. Whatever she is planning, I won't let it happen.

"You gave me the file, you can leave", I said and started working again.

Instead of leaving she stood in the same position and stared at me but I did not mind her hoping that ignoring her will make her leave me alone but she cleared her throat.

Without glancing at her, I said, "Leave and have some water"

"Advay", she called softly.

"What do you want?", I put my files and gave her my complete attention.

"Did you have your lunch?"

What? I expected her to shout at me for overloading her work or bringing Ashok into her cabin or maybe demand me something else.

"No. If that's all you wanted you can leave now. I have so much work to complete. I don't have time for chit-chatting", I said hoping she'll stop her act and burst out.

"Please continue, I'll leave you to it", she apologized and left.

What happened to her? Did she hit her brain on her way to my cabin? Did she forget who I was or did she imagine me as somebody else? No, she said my name. Anyways, I don't have to worry about it. Eventually, I'll find out.

After another half-an-hour, another knock disturbed me and I looked up to see the same person.

"Now, what do you want?", I asked with irritation.

"I brought you lunch. You said you have so much work, so instead of going out for lunch, I'll brought it here", she said handing me packet.

"I'm not hungry"

"Why not? You did not even have your breakfast. You are spoiling your health with this work. First eat, then work", she scolded me and took the files away from me.

"Aadhya, what are you doing? Give me my files back. I don't have time for these silly games", I scowled getting up from the chair. She stopped me with a smack on my head.

"How dare you?", I shouted.

"No need to shout. Stop acting like a spoiled brat and complete the food before it gets cold", she glared at me halting my process of protest.

I huffed but complied her request and looked at her.

"Good. Here, you can have your files now", she handled my files with a smile.

I smiled at her retreating figure. It felt nice, just like when we were friends.

Friends? Advay, get your head out of the clouds. We are business partners, just business partners.

Aadhya's POV:

It's been one week, since Riddanth returned. To say Cherry and I were happy would be understating it. We were so ecstatic. We talked and talked for hours. About Cherry, Riddanth, our companies, everything. Everything except Advay. I avoided speaking about him at all costs.

That doesn't mean I did not speak to him. I spoke to him Advay, every day. Checked upon him daily. In fact, it became a habit for me to take him lunch. I was happy. Although I still did not forgive him fully, I'm slowly accepting him and ready to give him a chance.

A chance for what? I don't have the answer for it but whatever it is I'm happy. It felt good to have normal conversations with him. Although, this Advay is different from the Advay I met for the first time, I know deep within he is still the same. He just chose to be a different person. He chose to suffer from within and distract himself by work. I can see the pain in his eyes. I just want to know the reason behind it.

"Hello, madam. Where are you lost?", Cherry said waving her hands in front of my face.

"Nothing", I smiled.

"Did not feel like nothing", she complained.

"Anyways, as I was saying before you tuned out, we are going shopping, tomorrow", she explained.

"Why?", I asked.

"Did you even listen to a word I said?", she shouted.

"Yes?", I smiled sheepishly at my response. She rolled her eyes.

"I said my uncle is arranging some party and I don't have anything to wear. So, we're going shopping tomorrow", she explained.

"Oh, yeah. Dad told me about it in the morning". While leaving to the office Dad informed that we have to attend a party after two days but he did not mention any other details and even, I did not ask.

"So, I will complete my meeting with my uncle and will meet you at the mall at 5PM and the we can have lunch and leave", she said.

"Okay"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"Seriously, Cherry I'm gonna kill you if you didn't reach the mall by the time I come", I threatened her and continued my drive to the mall.

Half an hour ago, I was supposed to meet Cherry but she called and informed me that she's gonna be late and about fifteen minutes later she called and changed the mall we were supposed to shop. I was exhausted with the amount of work and now she's playing games with me.

And moreover, the car before me is going slow and letting me over take it. So, I am irritated.

After two minutes I was beside that car and was about to shout at the driver but stopped and slowed down the car.

What the heck?

Driving the car was my best friend, Riddanth, and sitting beside him was a person I least expected to be interacting with my one of my best friends.
