Mr.Not-So-Perfect

Chapter 38

Do you know how the calm before the storm feels? Well, I feel the same now. Ever since that party, I was always on edge, over reacting even to the little things. It's been a week since that threat happened, but Advay is behaving like it never happened. He worked as usual, shouted as usual and we both had lunches as usual. So, eventually I forgot about it. But, today I feel like something big is going to happen, something bad.

"Aadhya, would you be so kind enough to come into this world?", Advay came into my line of vision, with an amused smile on his lips, as soon as I came out of my day dreams.

"Sorry, I was just thinking about something", I lamely answered to cover up my embarrassment.

"Oh, really? I couldn't tell", he answered sarcastically and laughed at me.

"Shut up", I mumbled with a blush and quickly put my head.

"Aww, you look so cute when you are embarrassed", he said pinching my cheeks.

Okay, how to reply to that statement? He just praised and insulted me in the same sentence. So, instead of replying, I simply stared at him dumb folded. Smart, right?

Before I embarrass myself more than I already did, thankfully, a knock on the door diverted Advay's attention away from me.

He went around the table and sat in his chair and asked the person to come in. Sanjay entered the room.

"Hi Sanjay", I greeted him with a smile.

"Hey, Aadhya. I didn't know you were here", he said with a smile, but it was fake. Judging by his expression, he was worried about something.

"Are you alright? You don't look well", I asked while placing my hand on his forehead to check the temperature.

"Ahem", Advay cleared his voice making Sanjay move away from him.

"Why did you come here", Advay asked with a scowl.

"I uh-, um, its uh- ", Sanjay mumbled looking scared.

"Hey, it's okay. Just relax and tell us what happened", I said placing a hand on his shoulder to calm him. Something big must've happened if it shook him like this.

"What happened", Advay commanded.

Without uttering a word, Sanjay moved and witched on the TV.  Advay and I looked confused until shock took over our features.

"WHAT THE HELL????", Advay's voice boomed around the room.

On the TV was Advay and Riddanth, where Advay was threatening Riddanth. It wasn't the full conversation. Just the part where Advay threatens him is playing repeatedly in a loop. But in the video, Mr.Atharva is not seen. Looking at it carefully, I found out that the video was from the angle where Mr.Atharva was sitting. That means, oh my god.

Apparently Advay was thinking the same. "I WILL KILL THAT BASTARD", he said and was about to storm out of the office.

"Advay, please calm down. Think properly and clearly. This is what they want. If something happens to them now, the media will blame you. They won't care if you did it or not", I tried to reason with and blocked path his path from going out.

"Exactly, even if I do something or not, they will blame me. So why not do something and take the blame instead of doing nothing and taking the blame", he said and tried to move away but I held his hand with mine and pleaded him with my eyes not to do anything irrational.

"Advay, right now you are angry, so please calm down and think for a moment. We will face it and I'm sure we can find a way to get out of this mess", I said and made him sit on a chair.
