Zoey's Pov:
Right after third period, I was trying to grab my bag but someone grabbed my wrist. I looked up and saw that it was Felix.
"Let me get that," He said. He grabbed my bag and handed it to me.
"Thank you. Your mother treated you well," I said. He looked at my eyes and smiled.
"Yeah, I guess so,"
"So, where are you supposed to go now?" I asked
"Um, lunch. What about you?"
"Same here, do you want to sit with me and my friend? She's not rude at all,"
"I would love to. I won't be a bother right?"
"No, of course not,"
"Fun,"
"Yeah, just follow me,"
We walked to the senior cafeteria.
"So, as you can tell, we have two cafeterias. One for the seniors and one is for everyone else," I said
"Fun, so I'm assuming that this is ours because it's smaller and a ping-pong table," He responded back
"Good eye Mr. Felix,"
"Zoey!" I heard a familiar voice calling my name
"That's Rachel, the friend that I was talking about,"
"Ok,"
"Let's meet her there,"
"Sure"
We walked up to Rachel so we can finally sit down and eat lunch.
"So, who is this?" She asked
"Rachel, this is one of my other friends that I just met today. His name is Felix. Felix, this is Rachel, like I said earlier,"
"Pleasure to meet you," Felix said putting his hand out. She accepted the handshake.
"Yeah, same with you. Where are you from?" Rachel asked
"Australia,"
"That makes sense. You're too friendly to be from America."
"What about me? I'm from here and I'm friendly," I cut in
Rachel put her hand on my shoulder and said,
"Debatable,"
Felix chuckled at that.
"Nah, mate, she pretty cool," He said putting his arm around me. We all paused for a minute, then Rachel broke the silence.
"Are you sure you guys met today. It looks like you guys met before today,"
"What do you mean?" I said sliding away from him to get his arm away from me
"What he just did! He put his arm around you,"
"He does that to everyone. He's a friendly person"
"Anyway, how long have you've been living in America?" Rachel asked
"For about a week. How long have you guys have known each other?" The boy said
"For a very long time. About 13 years?" I answered
"Wow, that is a long time. What are your guys' hobbies?"
"Well, I'm a writer," I said
"I'm a singer. But we're both in choir. What do you do?"
"I dance and I rap time to time"
"You like rap? So do I!" I said
"Wow, that one thing we have in common,"
"Sweet!"
------
After school:
After school, I met Rachel at her locker and she looked like she was frustrated.
"Who ticked you off this time?" I asked
"My teacher!" She responded back
"How does that happen on the FIRST day of school?"
"She wanted us to get all of this!" She handed me the list o what she needed to get.
"I'm graduating this year, I have no job, and I have a family of 6. We can't even afford bread right now!"
"Why can't you find a job? Homecoming is soon, and you and I were going to go together,"
"Weren't you going to go with your boyfriend and leave me?"
"FELIX AND I...." I started to say but realized that I was talking loud. I softened my voice and repeated what I was going to say.
"Felix and I are not dating. We legit just met today,"
"Right,"
"I'm serious! You can ask him when you see him next time,"
"Bet,"
"Bet!"
"Hey ladies," I heard a deep, familiar voice.
"Felix, what's up?" I asked
"Nothing really. Can I ask you a question?"
"Yeah, sure,"
"Can I have your number so I can contact you in case if either you or I miss school?"
"Yeah, sure, of course,"
We exchanged numbers and he left.
All three of us got out of school before they locked it up and went our separate ways.
