Chapter 17

Felix's Pov:

Another year, another birthday. I really can't believe that I'm 18. I'm legal in America I guess. That was what Rachel was texting me earlier today. Back in Australia, you had to 16 to 17 years old to be legal. I really think that it's weird to become an illegal adult to not be legal back to be legal again.

Man, life is confusing. Especially in the U.S.

I went downstairs and I saw a whole buffet for breakfast.

"Happy birthday Felix!" mom said

"Thanks, mom," I responded after kissing her on the cheek.

"I get it that it's your birthday, but can you pick up Olivia?"

"Yeah, of course. It doesn't bother me at all,"

It really doesn't, to be honest.

"Thanks, mom, but don't you some of this? You know I can't eat it all," I asked

"Yeah, of course,"

She sat down, grabbed a fork and started to eat with me.

"So, how are you and that girl?" She asked

"Zoey? I feel like it's fine. I don't know how she feels,"

"Are you guys dating?"

"No. You know it takes time to know someone right?"

"Yeah, but some people around your age start dating within a month. Heck, some get married within a month. Like that Ariana Davidson and Peter Grande,"

"Do you mean Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson?"

"Yeah, whatever their name is. But you do know what I meant by that. Do you?"

"Yeah, I do."

"Good,"

Ding

I looked at my phone and I got a text from Jisung.

"Is that her?" Mom asked

"No, it's Jisung. He just wishing me a happy birthday,"

"Oh, that's nice. Where do you want to have lunch at?"

"We can go to that Italian restaurant. If that's ok with you,"

"Of course,"

"Cool,"

A few hours later

"Mom, I'm about to pick up Olivia. I'll meet you and dad at the restaurant," I said

"Ok, see you in a little bit," She responded

I grabbed the keys and drove to the library to pick up Olivia.

When I reached the library, I saw Olivia and Zoey talking to each other.

I pulled up next to them and rolled down the window of the passenger side.

"Come on Olivia, we're going to be late," I said

"Ok, bye Zoe," Olivia said to Zoey

"Bye, Olivia," Zoey said

"Hey Zoe, are you and Rachel still going to dinner with me and the boys?" I asked

"Yeah. I wouldn't miss it for the world! Happy birthday Mr. Felix,"

"Thank you, Miss. Zoey. I'll see you then,"

I rolled up Olivia's window and left.

"So, what were you and Zoey talking about?" I asked

"You," She said

"What about me?"

"You having a crush on Zoey,"

"I don't have a crush on Zoey,"

"Right," She said sarcastically

"Honest," I said

"Ok, whatever you say, but I know it's true,"

"Whatever,"
