You Need To Calm Down - Taylor Swift

I guess the message of this song doesn't really go with the context of the chapter but the tune does so just go with it❤❤💕💕😂😂

ONE YEAR LATER
...

So I got rich. Sorta. Not filthy rich. Only rich enough to get a better apartment. Anezka and I are still friends and we visit each other quite often. I'd have to say she was my best friend. Today was one of my luckiest days.  I was interviewing the Ninja! In person!

I know I shouldn't be worried about Kai, even though I feel like I should. But he was just flirting with me that night. I know he was. Kai was the hot-headed guy who dated a new girl every single month and then got bored, broke up with them and took off, forgetting them completely.

So he didn't remember me. I know he doesn't. I was just a little insignificant part of his life. I was no more than a faded memory.

I ran a hand through my hair, playing with a few strands before letting my tired arms fall from my head. Deep breaths. He won't remember you. You have to be sure of that. I looked down at my dress. I felt the need to look nice. I was visiting the Red Carpet today. I brushed my hands down my colourful dress. I felt overdressed, but It was too late to change.

Biting my lip, I looked at the heels on my carpet. They were just as colourful as my dress, matching the patterns perfectly. It was just a few hours, a few awkward pictures, and that was it.

I had no idea why I  was stressing over this. It had been a year since I last saw Kai. I still had his shirt. He must've forgotten about it. Hopefully, be had forgotten about me entirely.

...

It was so crowded. I should have known that I wasn't the only person coming to see the ninja. Well, I did know, but I wasn't thinking right. Someone shoved me from behind, finding a new spot right in front of me, blocking my view of the celebrities.

"Um, excuse me!" I yelled out, trying to be heard over the roars of the eager crowd. "Excuse me!" I yelled again.

The man turned and glanced at me, his phone still recording high in the air. He turned back to the celebrities and ignored me.

I would probably get fired if I didn't get a clear shot of anybody, so I shoved my way past him and took up my previous spot. The man did the same, reclaiming the spot in front of me.

"Outta my way, asshole!" I said, slapping his back.

"Fuck! Ouch, woman!" He yelled in response.

"Get the fuck out of my way! You keep pushing me! You're taller, you can see over my head!" It was almost impossible to hear over the crowd.

"I'm going to get fired if I can't get a shot of anyone!"

"Me too! But you're one of the tallest people here! You've been recording everything already!" As I said this, I flipped my hair in his face and hurried on my way before the asshole could catch up. Thank goodness that was over with-

"Ah!" I was trampled to the ground and rolled onto the red carpet. I groaned, raising a hand to block out the flashing lights that had turned my way. My dress seemed to suffocate me, and I felt like an ant under everyone's judging gaze. I took in a deep breath, trying to calm my splitting headache.

"You okay?"

"Wh-what?" I looked up. A pair of gleaming amber eyes greeted me.

"You took a pretty bad fall." The Fire Ninja smiled down at me, brushing hair out of my face.

My eyes grew wide with surprise. "Woah! Um..., " I stumbled back onto my feet, brushing my hands on my dress. "Sorry, I just got...pushed, uh..." I laughed awkwardly, blushing madly.

Kai smiled at me. "Don't worry about it. It wasn't your fault." His voice was light, like a fluffy cloud.

I let out a breathy chuckle, smiling at the ground.

"What're you here for?" Kai asked, smiling and waving a few of the cameramen off.

"Uh, well I'm actually supposed to be interviewing you and your teammates. I'm also supposed to get a few pictures...If that's okay, of course." I answered shyly.

"For sure. We can start our interview soon. Right after this part is over. Finish walking the Red Carpet with me, will you?"

I blushed. "Oh, no no. I'm really okay. This is...your time to shine. I mean, I'm just a reporter. Nobody important."

"Well, Fate thinks it was meant to be. If she didn't, you wouldn't have belly flopped right in front of me."

I nodded, pressing my lips together, both annoyed and embarrassed. "Fine. I'll finish the Red Carpet with you." I slapped my hands down on my thighs in defeat.

Kai smiled and looped his arm through mine, waving at some of the cameras and smiling as we walked down the aisle.

I tried my best to just smile, but I couldn't really bring myself to laugh at the fact that this was really happening. I was surprised, of course, but I was more so surprised at the fact that it felt right and wrong to be walking alongside someone so famous.

I was a nobody, period. There was nothing special about me and I shouldn't feel special or wonder what PG-13 romance movie I am in. But yet I still felt special. I felt that maybe it was meant to be; all of this.

Maybe something really brought me and Kai back together.

I shook my head, glancing down at my open-toed heels, laughing at my own stupidity. That's right. I should just forget it. Kai wouldn't have remembered me anyway. There are millions of other girls and boys out there for us to find.

I will find someone else because soon this will all just be a good memory. There was nothing special about this moment. Some things just turn out to be good.

The cheering crowd faded as we came to the end of the carpet. I sighed, relieved that it was over. My arm was still intertwined with Kai's. I was just about to pull away when he came close to my ear.

"Nice to see you again, Y/n."
