Chapter 3

"What do you mean you are thinking of leaving Kentucky?!?" My mom asks when I tell her my idea. "I mean KU isn't the only school I got a scholarship to. I also got one to UCLA where I won't be alone I'll have Venessa and Morgan. Come on, mom I just need to get away from some people here," I say while giving my best puppy dog eyes. "Uh," she says in frustration. Then she sighs. "Call UCLA and see if the scholarship is still on the table and if it is, I'll discuss it with your father," she says and I squeal "thank you!!!" I yell. "Call Morgan and Vanessa and see if they have a place for you to live," she yells while I'm running upstairs.

After talking to UCLA they said they would love to have me come to there school and I can start in August like everyone else. Then I told mom and she said she'll talk to dad. Now my next step is to call my best friends and explain the last 24 hours of my life to them. Man wish me luck.

"I'm going to kill Kyle" Vanessa screams when I tell her about everything except my life change. "And I hate Tati. How could she do something like that??" Morgan says "Well you might be thanking Kyle and Tati after I tell you my next news" I say grinning. "Omg Chloe are you pregnant???" Morgan asks with wide eyes. I shut down that rumor immediately. "No of course not!" I say "what I was going to say was that I decided I want a change so I'm going to be attending UCLA in August" I say and they both go wide eyed and squeal. "IM SOO EXCITED" Morgan screams. "But I need somewhere to live" I say hoping they can help. "Our neighbor next door is looking for a roommate to help with the rent. I can ask if he'd be okay with you" Venessa says while grinning. "I don't know if I feel comfortable living with an adult" I say. "No the guy is only like 19" Morgan clarifies for me. " Okay talk to him and send me the information" I say. " I have to go see how my dad took the news so I'll talk to you guys later! Bye Love you guys." I say. "Bye love you too!" They both say in unison before hanging up. When they hang up I notice I have a lot of text messages. All from a certain jerk. Holy cheese! He sent me 126 text messages. I chose to ignore the messages and go downstairs.

When I get downstairs both my parents look at me. My dad stands up and hugs me super tight might I add "Dad I can't breathe" I say in between tiny breaths. He let's go "sorry but mom just told me what happened with Kyle and if you want I'll go run him over with my truck. I'll do it" he says to which I hug him and say "no it's okay. I'd rather not have my father in jail thank you very much". He smiles down at me then he goes serious. Oh no. "Your mother also told me about your plan to go to Los Angeles" he says with an emotion I can't read. "Look dad I have already talked to the school and to Vanessa and Morgan I have everything in place. I just need you to agree" I say using my magical puppy dog eyes he can never say no to. "Do you have everything in place? Be honest" he says. "Yes the school says my scholarship is still in place and Morgan and Vanessa are looking into this apartment next door to them while we speak" I say. "Fine" He says while I hug him. "But you have to break the news to Lucas" he says that and my heart hurts worse than it did with Kyle. Lucas is going to be so upset I'm moving farther away. I didn't think about how this would effect him. "Okay" I say with sadness laced in my voice.
