Ryder hasn't spoke a word since we left the warehouse but that hasn't stopped him from stealing glances from me. I have just been thinking this whole drive. I mean how did my life changed so quickly? Less than a month ago I was in a great relationship with a guy I thought I really liked and I was living in Kentucky happy with how my life was going. Look at me now I'm running around fighting some crazy gang leader who is trying to tear apart my family and ruin my life. Tomorrow is going to be a lot of shit but I know one thing. I steal a glance at Ryder. No one I care about will get hurt.
We finally arrive at a small apartment complex that I have missed. Ryder looks at me confused but I ignore him and go to the door and walk in the apartment building with Ryder in tow. I head to the elevator and go to the 3rd floor. I walk to the first door on my right and knock. I wait and notice Ryder watching me suspiciously. Suddenly the door opens and I'm greeted with a little girl the age of 10. "CHLOE" she says before jumping in my arms for a hug. "Hey little monster" I say greeting Emily. I put her down and she eyes Ryder suspiciously. "Ryder this is Emily, Emily this is my friend Ryder" I say introducing them. They wave at each other. "Where's your brother?" I ask Emily. "He's inside napping but I'm supposed to wake him up now" she says and turns to do it but I stop her. "Allow me" I say with a smirk which makes her giggle.
I walk into Keith's room to see him face first into his pillow sleeping. I roll my eyes and go to the kitchen and grab a cup of water and come back and without hesitation pour the cup of water on him. He instantly jumps but doesn't open his eyes. "Emily that was not what I meant when I said wake me up" he says groaning. "Good thing I'm not Emily" I say with a smirk. He looks up and spins me around in a hug. "What are you doing here?" He asks after spinning me. "College but also I need a favor" I say while I tell him to sit while I explain everything to him.
After explaining everything to Keith he agreed to help. We walk back into the living room to see Ryder on the floor with Emily giving him a makeover. I can't help but burst out laughing at Ryder with his makeup done. He glares at me while I continue to laugh and I hear Keith stifle a laugh. "Ha ha so funny" Ryder say standing up. "Here you can take it off now. Thanks for playing with me though" she says handing Ryder a makeup wipe. He takes it and smiles down at her and says "no thank you for hanging out with me, m'lady" he says bowing to Emily which makes her giggle. She runs off to her room and I'm left with two guys that are glaring at each other. Oh no.
"Anyways Keith this is my friend Ryder and Ryder this is my old friend Keith" I say introducing them. They shake hands and stop somewhat glaring at each other. "Sit we have a lot to talk about" I say sitting down and motioning for them to sit. They both sit on either side of me. "How do you know him" Ryder asks and I gulp and look at Keith to see if he's okay with me saying and he nods his head. "I met Keith back in Kentucky. He was a really good friend of Tony's for awhile until Tony got caught up in the wrong business but I always stayed close with Keith and his sister Emily. Keith was part of the gang for awhile and was until about a year ago but he was one of the original guys from this branch. He left because his sister needed him." I say finishing off without going into detail about his parents. "She didn't mention one part" Keith says from beside me. I sigh and continue "his parents were abusive towards Emily and so he took her and left and he's been living in secrecy without his parents finding out. He only tells people he trust where he lives and now you know too but I trust you'll keep it to yourself right?" I ask hoping I didn't put Keith in jeopardy. "Of course. I understand why you would want to protect her from that" Ryder says looking down. I remember about his brother and run circles on his back in a hope to relax him. "So how am I supposed to help now?" Keith asks. "I need you tomorrow and if you need someone to watch Emily I already have someone watching Tati so she can stay with them they'll be in a location I'll be the only one to know" I say looking him in the eyes. He nods and says "I trust you with my life. I know you won't let anything happen to her" he says smiling at me.
