Epilogue p.2

I walk back and see Ryder standing alone looking confused. I laugh to myself and excuse myself. I walk over to him "what happened?" I say with a big grin. "So we were playing hide and seek and I can't find her" he says still looking around. I look to the stage and see little feet. I giggle to myself and grab Ryder's hand and drag him towards the stage. I point towards the curtains and he still looks confused until he sees the little feet. He nods and gives me a kiss on the cheek and mouths a 'thank you'. I smile and walk back and get lost in thought. I don't know what I did to deserve any of these. After the incident I thought nothing would be the same again. I was right but it doesn't mean it's bad. I'm happy with everything that has happened lately. I am only partially a member of the gang. I help when I'm needed but I'm focusing on my school. I'm going to school to be a detective. I look over and see Ryder tickling Emily. I smile to myself. He is still fully in the gang. It's what he has always wanted to do.

I walk back over to the group and see everyone hanging out and talking. If you didn't know us you would think we were any other normal group but you would be highly mistaken. While I'm looking at my friends I feel arms snake around my waist and someone put their chin on my shoulder. "Hey. What are you thinking about?" He asks. "Just how happy I am to have you all" I say turning around and putting my arms around his neck. "I think it's the other way around princess" he says smiling at me. He starts leaning in and is about to kiss me when my phone starts ringing. He groans and I laugh and grab my phone from my pocket.

I look at my phone and a smile comes to my face. "Hey buddy" I say to my favorite little guy. "Hey Chloe. What are you doing?" He asks. He recently turned 11. He is growing up so fast. "Just hanging out with some friends" I say and his expression lights up. "Is Emily there?" He asks. I laugh to myself and nod. "Can I say hi?" He asks shyly. I nod and call Emily over. "Yes?" She asks confused. I hand her the phone and her face lights up. "Hey Lucas!" She says before running off to find a seat to talk to him. I laugh to myself. When my parents and Lucas came down to check on me after Jackson told them about some of the incident Lucas and Emily fell in love. Even though neither will admit to liking each other I just have this feeling.

I turn back around to see a laughing Ryder. "What are you laughing at?" I ask. "Just how Lucas' first question was about Emily. When will they admit they like each other?" He said put his arm around my waist and leading me towards the group. "Not for a long time probably" I say with a chuckle. We make it to the group and Keith starts looking around. I assume he's looking for Emily. "She's on the phone with Lucas somewhere" I say to him. He stops looking around and starts chuckling. "Young love, how amusing" Joey says. We all start laughing.

I see Jackson head off somewhere but don't question it much. I see him come back with a bucket of something and I see him looking at me with a smirk. I take this as his plot of revenge for last week when I silly stringed him. My eyes go wide and I try to run but I feel someone stopping me. I look and see a smirking Ryder. He's probably helping to get back at him for throwing confetti at him. I got really into pranking lately if you haven't noticed. I try to squirm my way out of his hold but it doesn't work so I do something a little mean. I stomp on his foot really hard. He squeals in pain and I take this as my shot to run. I'm about to leave when I'm covered in something sticky.

I look and notice I'm covered in slime. I glare at everyone and they are all laughing while falling over themselves. "That is what I call payback" Jackson says with a victorious smirk. "Fair enough. I think a celebratory hug is in order" I say and before he can run off I give him a big squeeze. "Eww! Chloe get off me" he says. "No thanks" I say and give him one more squeeze. I let go and see him smiling at me. "I know you love me cuz but was this really necessary" he says looking at his now slime green body. I just nod then burst out laughing. I turn around and see an amused Ryder smiling at us. "Oh don't think you don't get one too" I say and hug Ryder too. "I was hoping I would be left out" he says trying to push me off. "I would never leave you out" I say smiling up at him and see him already smiling down at me. I pull away and turn to everyone else. "Who's next?" I say and everyone starts to run off. I still don't know how I got this lucky.
