Chapter 23

"Hey Tati" I say sitting on the steps of the warehouse with her. "Hey Chlo" she says. We have been sitting in awkward silence for awhile now. I just don't know how to spring this on her. "Look I know our history is kind of messy but I want to move past it not only because I need your help but because you were actually an amazing friend at one point in time" I say looking at her. "I agree and I am really sorry about everything that happened with Kyle. I was upset about Tony and Kyle came to me not the other way around. I really missed you" she says smiling at me. "Now this is where it gets complicated" I say while looking at my lap. "You know how Tony was in a gang?" I say trying to see how much she knew. "Yeah why?" She asks. I sigh and explain everything I've learned about Tony the last couple days to her while she sits there in silence.

"He lied" she says looking down at her lap. I grab her hand and try to calm her down "I'm sorry you had to find out this way but I had to end it" I say. "He lied to me about everything and right now he decided is the best time to do this after I tell him" she says now pacing. I look at her confused "what did you tell him?" I ask. She looks at me and then down at her stomach and then I realize she's pregnant. "Is it Tony's?" I ask while walking over to her. "Yes" she says while about to cry. I hug her and she cries into my shoulder. We stand here like this for about ten minutes. She pulls away and looks at me and says "I want to end this now" she says with determination.

I walk in without Tati because she had to leave but I told her to not let Tony know she knew if she wanted to end it and she agreed. I walk in to be greeted by a pacing Jackson. I clear my throat and all eyes are on me. "What happened?" Jackson asks while looking at me. "She's in" I say. Ryder looks confused and speaks his concerns "why would she help if she loves Tony?" He asks. "Because she wants a better life for her and umm" I say looking down and wondering if it's my place to say. "And who?" Ryder asks. "Her baby" I say looking at them. They all immediately go wide eyed. I ignore them and continue to speak "we need to go back to the apartment and do some stuff to prepare" I say grabbing my stuff. I point at Jackson and say "stay here and call if something comes up" I say and then turn to Ryder "call Cole and tell him to meet us at the apartment" I say while walking to Ryder's car. "On it boss" they both say and I roll my eyes and I call Vanessa and Morgan and tell them to come over to speak strategy.

The drive back was silent until Ryder broke it "was it good?" He asks and I look at him confused. "Was what good?" I ask eying him. "Oh umm never mind" he says continuing to drive down the road. "Pull over" I say sighing. He does as said and looks confused. I was going to tell him I know what he meant but instead I decided to just show him. I kissed him and he was shocked at first but then he responded to the kiss. After a couple minutes I pull away and look at him and smirk and say "was it good?". He chuckles while turning the car back on and responds with "more than you would know" I smile at his words.

We make it to the apartment to be greeted with Vanessa and Morgan since I told them where the spare key was. "Are you guys up to help?" I ask making sure they are still in. "Of course. Anything to help you" Vanessa says. "And she wants to help Jackson" Morgan says and we both giggle. "Shut up. Now what are we doing?" Vanessa asks. I look at Ryder and ask "where is Cole?" I ask before he can respond there is a knock on the door. Ryder goes and gets it and we are greeted by a tall blonde guy. "I'm assuming you are Cole?" I say extending my hand. He shakes it and says" yup and I assume you are Chloe. Ryder talks about you a lot" he says eying Ryder. I laugh when I see Ryder blushing. "We need to talk about our plan, catch you guys up and I know this sounds bad but I need to know you guys weaknesses" I say and they all tense up a bit. "No" Ryder says and I look at him in shock. "I need to know I can't have any surprises Saturday" I say looking him in the eyes. He sighs and says "fine. I'm all yours" he says.
