Epiphany

There was something about the silence that Damian brought to my bedroom that made me feel different. I felt like someone who didn't have to wake up in the morning to look after her younger siblings or have to go work at a job full-time to help support her family. Everything about Damian made me feel like a teenager and his hands on me were the perfect distraction.
The moon peered into my room, shining a dim light on his chest as it rose and fell with deep breathes. I tried my best not to stare at the scars that ran up and down his forearms, secrets that I realized he was trying to keep hidden in the daylight, instead I focused on the way his body radiated heat onto mine. I felt wrapped up in safety and I couldn't help but wish that the real world wouldn't have to wake us from this fantasy.
Damian shifted his posture, positioning himself on his side to look directly at me. His fingers danced up the side of my stomach, sending a shiver down my spine with each movement. With one look, I knew that I couldn't give this up....
