*Ben's POV*
Ben had just finished his meeting and him and Joe had decided to go get something to eat. Ben had just finished telling Joe about his breakup with Zoe and why they broke up.
"so you broke up because of y/n?" Joe asked, suspiciously.
"yes, why do you say it like that" Ben asked.
"no reason, I'm just not surprised" Joe responded.
"what do you mean?" ben asked, curious as to what he's missing.
"I just mean, anyone who sees you and y/n would think you were a couple. You act like it all the time. I mean unless you had convinced me otherwise, I would assume you two were crazy about each other" Joe said casually, eating a chip.
Ben stayed silent, but opened his mouth as if he were about to say something.
"wait you don't- you don't have feelings for her, do you?" Joe asked, in a shocked tone.
Ben once again opened his mouth to say something but couldn't string together the right words.
"oh my god you do!" Joe exclaimed happily.
"no- well maybe- I don't know. I had never really considered it a possibility until Zoe told me less than 24 hours ago" Ben responded.
"so what if you do?" Joe asked as if it was that simple.
"well, what if she doesn't have those feelings for me?" Ben responded.
"it's pretty obvious that she does, maybe she's just suppressed them like you did" Joe said.
"But what if we try dating and it doesn't work out, then we just end up hurting each other? Then I've lost my best friend and my roommate" Ben said, running his hands through his hair.
"Ben, do you really like this girl?" Joe asked, looking sternly at Ben.
"No it's more than that, Joe. I think I'm in love her" Ben replied, finally understanding what he had been feeling for you.
"well then shouldn't it be worth the risk? If you really love her, and you want to be with her, then even if there's the smallest chance that it could work out, you should take it" Joe said.
"okay, since when did you become cupid?" Ben laughed.
"when I met you and y/n" Joe replied. "now why are we still sitting here? You have to go and confess your love to y/n!" he added, causing Ben to take a deep breath and, after paying the bill, they both got into Joe's car.
"flowers" Joe said. "you need flowers. This is your grand romantic gesture, you need flowers" he continued.
"alright" Ben said breathlessly, driving to the nearest florist.
After five minutes of searching Ben got a call from you.
"shit, it's y/n!" Ben shouted to Joe, causing Joe to come rushing over. "what do I do?" Ben asked.
"pick up, but just tell her you're busy and you'll be back soon" Joe said, and Ben obeyed, however he went pale hearing your words.
"y/n, breathe. Tell me what's happening" he said, a sharp pain hitting his stomach hearing you this upset.
Joe came into Ben's view, looking confused with his brow furrowed. "y/n, me and Joe are on our way. Who's going to kill you?" Ben said, causing Joe's confused look to change into a wide-eyed terrified expression. Ben signalled to the car and he and Joe ran towards the it.
Ben pulled the phone away from his ear momentarily. "Joe phone the police, tell them there's been a break in at y/n and I's apartment and y/n is being held hostage." Ben said, quickly before putting his phone back up to his ear to talk to you and started to speed home.
He knew that he was breaking at least three laws right now but he didn't care. You clouded his thoughts and he had never been so scared in his life.
You suddenly went silent on the phone, much to Ben's worry. He then heard a bang. "y/n?" she shouted but there was no response. "damn it!" he shouted, putting his phone on speaker so he could focus on driving slightly more. Joe hung up his phone call with the police seconds after.
"the police are on their way" Joe said, quietly.
Ben stayed silent. He was too anxious to say anything, plus he was listening to your side of the call very carefully. He heard muffled voices and he heard you squeal which caused him to drive even faster.
"do not move from this spot or I'll kill you" Ben and Joe heard from the other side of the call, causing them to momentarily look at each other, the same fear evident in both their eyes."please don't move" Ben said under his breath, which was shaky after hearing the voices on the other end of the call.
A few seconds later they heard "she's running Alan. Stop her" then a loud smashing noise.
"no!" Ben shouted. "No! No! No!" he shouted over and over again, hitting the steering wheel each time he said 'no'.
Ben was in tears at this point. He couldn't stop them. He didn't know what to do with himself if you had been...well if anything had happened to you. He was terrified and more terrified than he had ever been in his life.Joe put a hand on Ben's shoulder. "look we don't know anything's happened. The police should be there any second" Joe said, but his words weren't comforting to Ben since Joe was also crying, not that Joe realised he was doing this. That just told Ben that they were thinking the same thing – that they had got you.
Ben turned into the parking for your building. Not bothering to park properly or shut the car door behind him. He had one thought – he had to get to you. Dead or alive he needed to find you.
Your apartment was the first one in your building so it wasn't long before Ben had gotten to the front door and opened it.
When he entered he couldn't see you, but he could see drops of blood leading to your room, starting at a smashed vase that was on the floor. He couldn't hear anything either. He ran into your room and his heart dropped, as did he to his knees next to you. The men must've moved you in here to prolong anyone finding you.Your head was surrounded by a pool of blood and there was a cut at the back of your head as if something had been smashed against it. Ben hesitantly lowered his head to your chest. He could still hear your heart beat and the tears spilled from his eyes in relief.
"is she...." Joe started hesitantly, from behind Ben and Ben shook his head, causing Joe to let out a big sigh.
Just then the police finally arrived.
