You indulged in your kiss since you had longed for this for months now, even if you were half-asleep.

"wow" was all Ben could say, when your lips parted. "even right after waking up from an intensive surgery, your kiss still gave me chills" he continued and you laughed. "I'm gonna get the nurse to let her know you're more able to talk to her about how you're feeling now" he added, getting up and heading to the door.

"tell her...ecstatic" you quickly say, before he flashed you a smile at you and left. A few seconds after he left a doctor entered.

"hi miss y/l/n, how are you feeling?" he asked.

"a little nauseous, but okay" you responded.

"good. There's something I want to talk to you about while we're alone." He started, causing you to worry slightly.

"okay" you said, in a confused tone.

"well are you aware that you are pregnant?" he asked and you froze.

"I...uh-i- no" you stuttered in shock. "I took a pregnancy test and it was negative" you continued in an almost defensive tone.

"false positives are rare, but false negatives are common. But I can safely say we tested you and I can pretty much guarantee you are pregnant" he said.

"but I'm on the pill" you added quietly, clearly in denial.

"the pill isn't 100% effective on it's own" he responded. "there's still about 10% of women can get pregnant on the pill, especially if it isn't used properly" he added.

"okay" you breathed out in confusion, even though you had missed a couple that month. What was going on? Your life now compare to what it was 24 hours ago is unbelievable! "is the baby okay?" you asked suddenly.

"we did a scan and yes the baby is fine. Luckily the wheel landed above the womb and avoided it completely. However, I would avoid any unnecessary physical activity until you've fully recovered, stress isn't good for the baby" he added.

You knew the baby was Ben's, but you had to be sure. "can you not mention it in front of my boyfriend?" you asked and the doctor's eyes widened.

"oh, um...yes that's no-" he started.

"I mean it's most likely his I just want to be sure" you quickly added realising how bad that must've sounded.

The doctor nodded awkwardly and he left. You were really pregnant, but you couldn't decide if you were happy about it or not. You and Ben were together now, but this is also going to throw both your lives off course.

*two weeks later*

"be careful y/n" Ben exclaimed as you stumbled slightly trying to step out of his car.

"Ben I'm fine, you don't need to treat me like I'm made of glass" you laughed.

"I think I do, you seem to have a tendency to keep getting serious head injuries" he laughed back at you and you both stepped into your building.

Once you had entered your apartment, you slumped down on your couch, finally relieved to be off your feet. It felt weird to be back in your apartment. Everything felt and looked so different and you weren't sure what reason it was for - Ben and you finally being together; the car crash; or the pregnancy. Probably all of them.

Your head was spinning at a million miles an hour, terrible thoughts filling your mind.

"Are you okay?" Ben asked, sitting across from you, on the coffee table.

"Yeah" you breathed, looking down, not paying attention to the concerned look on Ben's face.

"Something's wrong, y/n, you can tell me" He said, gently placing a hand over yours, which was currently gripping the fabric of the couch so hard that you thought it may rip.

There were so many things you wanted to tell Ben in this moment, but none of them seemed more important to the other and you had no idea where to even begin.

"I just...I really almost died this time" you said with glossy eyes, finally meeting Ben's gaze. "I was really lucky. I should be dead" you continued, biting down on your bottom lips to try suppress the overwhelming emotion you felt, but it was no use. You were soon in tears as Ben moved onto the couch, holding you close to him.

"That's how my parents died Ben, I was meant to be dead" you continued sobbing into his chest.

Ben kissed the top of your head. "No it wasn't, don't ever think like that" Ben started. "You're still here, clearly you're meant to be here. If you were supposed to be dead, then you would be" He said, placing a gentle kiss on your head.

You let out a long breathy sigh. "You're right, you're right, I'm just being stupid" you chuckled lightly.

"You're not stupid, y/n, you're just overthinking it. I've got you now and I'm not letting anything else happen to you" he replied, pulling you into his chest tightly.

You let out a breathy sigh and spent the next few moments gathering your thoughts, calming your breathing to the same rate as Ben's. You subconsciously put a hand over your stomach, and for the first tine it really hit you that you were going to be a mother.
