LIZZ MAYBERRY POV
I woke up to the smell of bacon. If there was one thing I could wake up to every morning, it wold be the smell of bacon. When I finally opened my real eyes, I realized the real lies. There Harry was, sitting up next to me in our blanket fort, creating a synthetic bacon smell by rubbing these two packets together. I don't know how it worked but it was heart wrenching and undeniably the worst thing to ever happen to me in my entire life.
"I bought these the other day," Harry said, holding up the packets that advertised "Real bacon smell!"
"Some men just want to watch the world burn," I said evenly before turning around and falling back on my pillow face first.
"Lizz eat some bacon. You're a diva when you're hungry," Harry smirked. I could tell he was smirking just from his voice.
"Wow, Harry! I wish there was some bacon to eat!" I yelled.
"Oh, good. You two are up. Harry, your phone was buzzing. You have an interview tonight at eight o'clock," Mum said, sticking her head in our fort.
"You read my messages?" Harry cried.
"Hun, it's my mum-job."
Harry groaned and then his eyes widened. "We have to go shopping!"
"No! Why?" I asked. I hated shopping.
"If I don't have anything to wear tonight, you sure as heck don't either."
"No," I groaned even though I knew it was true.
"Yes, Elizabeth. We have to go shopping," he said firmly.
I reached up to his face and touched a curl. "Awe. I always wanted as sister."
He swatted my hand away. "Get up you lazy bum. We have to get moving. Mum!" There was a muffled reply from somewhere upstairs. "Lizz and I are going shopping!" No reply.
I sighed heavily. "I guess she doesn't love you afterall. Tough break, kid."
"That's fine! Have fun. Do you need any money?" She asked from upstairs.
Harry rolled his eyes even though she couldn't it. "No, Mum, I don't need money. Would you like some?"
"Get out of here with that attitude!"
"Mhmm gurl, slay!" I laughed and he glared at me.
"She loves me. I'm pretty sure," he joked. "Take down the fort and I'll make a quick breakfast and then we will leave."
I groaned loudly and then abruptly stood up inside the fort, taking the main ceiling blanket up with me, having all the pillow walls cave in. I looked like a ghost now with the white blanket draped over me. Harry chuckled at my method of distruction. I folded all the blankets and returned everything to its proper place while Harry made cereal.
After we ate and put our dishes away, Harry turned to me. "Ready for some shopping?"
I looked down at my clothes. I was still in my PJs which were grey sweatpants and a tie-dye t-shirt. "Yeah, let me go change out of my jammies," I said but neglected to move an inch. I just kept looking down and sighing.
"You're not going to change are you-"
"No, I'm not let's just go."
Harry collected keys and a wallet. "By Mum!" We both called at the exact same time. We high-fived as we went out the front door to use the car parked in the driveway.
