Interlude - A Nod to Eternity

The Raven's gunmetal orbs

The cadet's emerald eyes

Deeper than the ocean itself.

Silent spectres, reunited.

The two Wings of Liberty.

Over tapestries of cosmos, the lovers stood, hand in hand

Together again:

Black, white

Day, night

Purity.

Sin.

His love, his life, his very essence, returned to the trembling, tormented Raven.

The veil broke, the Raven wept;

Curtain was called.

Heavy red velvet entombed the jaded cadet.

Viridescent eyes forever closed on what was,

trapped eternally in phantasmagorical planes.

The tragic play, over

Creation's last hope, shattered

Glass windows, glass palace

The silver bullets rained down,

Die Jaeger sind tot.

The castle fell.

Sun wanes, daylight ends

The dead captain stands alone in the shadow of mortality

Waiting for his love, picking a shard of luminous ruin,

Final rays of the final day catch the broken glass

Shooting prisms over the empty battlefield

What was?

What could have been?

On display before the phantom,

Broken dreams dance.

Insanity infects the mind of the lost Raven.

Tattered flags,

Well worn weapons,

Nonexistant in the void of eternal unconscious.

Lucid dreaming forever in solitude.

His ocean eyes

The Raven's fallen love;

Alone together

Forever lost to time,

To eternity.

The malachite eyes of the Raven's only love

Blinked back at him once more.
