Time to summer: Robin

Robin was crushing on Chill, hard. Her and Toad had turned one a while ago, as her and Chill had winter birthdays and Toad had a spring one. But it was now summer, which meant vacation time. Dragons went on vacation back to their home kingdoms, to explorer the lives of different tribes, and to tour all around Pyrrhia. And Robin and Chill were no exception. Chill was to go visit the Ice kingdom in a months time, while it was only a day until Robin was going with her mom to tour the Sky Kingdom for the first three weeks of summer. They would then come back for two weeks, and then visit the Rainforest for the remaining three weeks. Carmine had kept telling Seal, (who was now her best friend), about how she had always wanted to go see the Rainforest. And Seal kept mentioning to Carmine about the family Chill had up in the cold, snowy, north. That just made Carmine remember her family up in the Sky Kingdom. So, now they were going on two trips.

"I'll miss you," Robin said to Chill, putting on the sweetest tone she had, as she packed the backpack she was to bring with her. She had been giving him a lot of hints about her crush, but he was ether not getting them, or not caring.

"You too," he said, almost grumpily.

"Oh, lighten up a bit," she told him. He held a fake smile for a couple of seconds before dropping it and going back to being grumpy.

"It's no fair. You get to go on vacation for almost the whole summer, while I have to wait a month, all because of mom's schooling," he sulked.

"Well, if it was up to me, I would let you come," Robin said.

She remembered about three months ago, when Seal walked back into their home, extremely exited. She had said her dream of becoming a doctor was coming true, and that she was being referred to a medical school in the SkyWing city really close to Sanctuary. She had to fly there early in the morning, and come back in the afternoon. She would always have a lot of homework, so it was not until late evening when she would have time for them. She had let Robin and Chill come with her once, just for a quick tour, on a "break day". It was a day of going to the school and just studying, without classes. All the professors came as well, so you could ask them questions. Seal had politely asked if she could give the two dragonets a tour, and the school had let her. It was an hour long flight, if you flew fast. And it was really boring inside. They had to be very quiet, as not to disturb the other students, and Robin didn't understand ANYTHING there.

"Hurry up, Robin," her mother called from the other room. "Don't forget a blanket. It can get chilly up in the mountains. Especially when we're so used to living with IceWings."

Robin grabbed her white blanket off the nest and shoved it into the backpack with the rest of her stuff. It mainly consisted of toys and easy reader scrolls, with her toothbrush as well.

Robin's mom had been trying to find a job, so they wouldn't just be living off Seal. So far, she had no luck. She was holding back her job hunt until after the summer.

"Are you done yet?" Robin's mother called.

"Yes," Robin called back, entering the living room and tossing her backpack right beside her mother's. Robin couldn't wait for her journey to begin.

Robin always woke up in the mornings to find herself cuddling Chill. She just couldn't help it. But now she liked to roll over beside him while she was still awake. She liked the cold that radiated off his scales. And he never seemed to object to it. So, that night, tucked under Chill's wing, she waited until he was asleep. It took him a while, but when he did, she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Was it just her, or did she see him smile through the very faint light of the snowflake lamps (which, she had been informed, had moon globes in them). Ether way, she was happy.

"I'm going to miss you so much," she whispered to him, before lying back down and trying to fall asleep.
