Winter is weird: Chill

Chill was stuck with this group of friends he didn't know, as they ate at a vegetarian place Chill didn't like. He would much rather a fish then a fruit salad, but at least it was frozen.

"So, what's your name?" Toad, who was sitting beside Chill, asked the RainWing on his other side.

"Lemon," he responded, smiling.

"Lemon! Stop flirting with every male dragon you come into contact with!" Mantis hissed playfully.

"I was NOT! It's just that no other RainWing is interested! And I'm not into NightWings!" Lemon moaned, throwing his head back while his scales turned an annoyed orange. "And I also wasn't flirting with him because I literally just said my name! That's it!"

"Wait, what? You're..." Toad trailed off.

"Gay, yes. And these frog lickers won't stop bugging me about it!"

"Oh, uh..." Toads face turned bright red. "I'm not... I'm not gay myself. Not that it's bad or anything, I'm just not..."

"I know. No one is. That's the problem of me liking boys. That lesbian couple could find each other, but I've got no one." His scales faded back to their yellow and light colours.

"Aww. You'll find someone, someday," Honeydew flashed a small smile his way.

"I know. Sorry I'm being grumpy, it's just that's it's almost sun time. I can't wait."

"What's sun time?" Chill asked. He frankly didn't care, but kinda wanted to learn more about these annoying colour shifting dragons.

"Sun time is the most wonderful time of the day," Ceiba grinned "it's where you sleep in the sun an noon, and thats it. It's so wonderful and warm and magical. Wanna join us?"

"Oh, heck no!" Chill hissed. "But Robin likes napping in the sun."

"It was one time, but it was amazing." Robin smiled. "I'm in."

"Alright, let's go!" Lemon got up, followed by the others. Robin and Toad split the bill between everyone except Chill, who paid his own tab.

"So... Interesting dragons, eh?" Toad asked Chill as they walked back to the IceWing's house.

"Too hyper. And lazy. They sleep at noon everyday? And sit around eating fruit and not hunting? Lazy as all heck."

"Well, not all of them, but I see where you're coming from," Toad opened Echo's tank. The scavenger cautiously walked over, and Toad scooped him up.

"And that one that kept calling me Robin's girlfriend," Chill felt anger building up at that statement. The two went outside and sat on the doorstep, where it was shady.

"Hey, dad! They have a cute scavenger!" A small IceWing dragonet grinned, rushing over to them. She looked familiar, and Chill realized she was Winter's daughter, Meltwater.

"You wanna hold him?" Toad asked. "Just be careful."

"Melt, where did you go?" Chill heard a male voice ask, before Winter emerged. The large IceWing looked around for his daughter, eventually spotting her sitting between Chill and Toad. A weird look spread over his face, and he shifted his talons. "Melt, there's a lot of scavengers around here. Let's go!"

"I think your dad is looking for you," Chill told the small white dragonet. She placed Echo back in his talons, and hurried off.

"Winter is weird," Toad shrugged. "You never did anything to him, and he doesn't like you."

"I think it's something to do with my mom. She doesn't seem to like him, either."

"Odd. Well, I'm bored. Wanna go do something?"

"Sure, let's go!" Chill replied, rushing back in to put Echo away. They then took off, looking for something to do on this hot summer day.
