"Trust me, this'll be fun. I wish I could go back and repeat my first year of school... Kind of," Seal said to Chill, Carmine and Robin flying in front of her.

"What do you mean 'kind of'?" Chill gave her a questioning look.

"Remember how not fun our trip to the ice kingdom ended up being? My childhood was that times two. Way too much military stuff. If you ask me, they start training way two early," Seal frowned.

"Hey, there's the school!" Carmine interrupted the two, pointing to a largish building. It was made of grey stone, with large windows and different parts of the walls painted different colours. Dragonets of all tribes, though mostly SkyWings, were milling about, chatting with their friends or playing with toys or reading comic scrolls.

"Hey, look, Slush is already here!" Chill exclaimed, pointing to two white dragons standing off to the side. Slush's dad was almost as white as her, but he had flecks of light blue scales along his back and wings.

"Chill!" Slush called out, laying eyes oh Chill's light blue and silver scales. She rushed over and gave him a quick hug. "I don't wanna go to school. There's no adventure! No exploring! Just sitting around doing paperwork and wishing you could go outside."

"That's untrue, little one," a light pink RainWing said. She looked about fifteen years old, with a pair of green glasses that wound tightly around her horns to keep them in place. "I'm Professor Iguana, and I might be your teacher."

"She's wrong," Slush whispered as soon as Iguana had turned her attention to the parents. "Teachers always try to convince you school is fun, to brainwash you. I don't need school. I'm going to be an explorer. I'm going to travel to outer islands and discover more about them. Maybe I'll even find a new species. Imagine, scavengers with monkey tails, or bears with bird wings!" Slush giggled.

"That sounds very unlikely," Chill muttered, smiling at the thought of a fat brown bear flapping about with a pair of feathery wings.

"But they could be out there, and we just don't know it yet! That's why we need explorers! There could be a whole new tribe of undiscovered dragons, for all we know, and we don't know it! And I'll find them, all by myself. Then I'll be famous."

"No, all tribes have already been discovered. We got the seven from here, and the three from Pantala. There can't be any more!" Chill exclaimed.

"That's what dragons here thought before Luna came to  the continent. We didn't think there wasn't another continent..." Shush's speech was cut short by  Professor Iguana clearing her throat at the front of the school.

"Now, would all first year students say goodbye to their parents and follow me into the building," she called, her scales now a light blue.

"Bye mom! By Carmine," Chill called, walking off with his friends.

"This'll be fun," Robin said, coming up beside Chill. "As long as I'm with you."

Chill sat at a table in his new classroom, drawing a bad picture of an IceWing. Robin sat beside him, also drawing an IceWing. By the was she kept glancing at him, Chill guessed it was a portrait of him. Her drawing skill wasn't any better then his though.

The three had ended up in Professor Iguana's class, while Toad had ended up in the other first year class, with the SkyWing teacher.

"HEYYYYYYYYYYY! DON'T DO THAT! TEACHER! PROFESSOR IGUANA! HE TRIED TO GRAB MY SCROLL!" The only NightWing in the room called suddenly, pointing to a pinkish SkyWing, who was looking mad.

"Well... he tried to trip me!" The SkyWing retaliated, glaring at the smaller NightWing, who glared right back.

"No I didn't! I just had my tail here, and you tripped over it!"

"You moved your tail as I walked by! I saw it!"

"Gentlemen," Professor Iguana said, stepping in between the two. "There's no need to argue."

"Yes there is," The SkyWing said, glaring around her wing at the NightWing.

"Let's go outside!" Iguana called, beginning to heard the two outside. "To the play structure!"

"Well, this blows," Slush twined her tail around Chill's as they walked out the door.

Him, Robin, and Slush played on the enormous play structure until Iguana called them back in. then, they played games until their parents came to get them at the end of the day.

"So, did you have fun on your first day?" Seal asked Chill, smiling at her son.

"Yes," Chill replied, which was a half truth. "Let's go home now. I'm tired."
