This is as big a storm as we see around here: Toad

It was getting close to summer, and Amber showed no sign of stopping. She and her group kept on fighting. And the green team were fighting back.

And Chill just wanted this whole thing to end. He hadn't expected this battle to last the whole school-year, but their opponents weren't backing down. The red team's territory had been pushed back to just the school roof and dark area, as most younger dragonets on Amber's team had switched sides.

"Hey, Toad, check out my new hat," Slush called. She was wearing a large brown adventurer's hat that covered her short horns. She had broken up with Pika almost immediately after Chill had told her about Pika being a drug dealer, and the IceWing seemed to be doing just fine.

"Looks very nice," Toad smiled. The three walked down to the lakeside, taking in the nice, warm, sunny day. They suspected it wouldn't be sunny for too long, though, as a large cloud was slowly making its way towards them.

"Oh, Chill, do you have another girlfriend?" Slush asked.

"Not yet," Chill shrugged. He didn't want to just date some other random dragon, as he still felt guilty for Lily's death.

"Me neither," Slush frowned, then smiled cheekily. "Just wanted to make myself feel better."

"Why you little icicle sucker," Chill joked.

"Okay, stop it," Toad moved in between the two, starting to dig a small circle in the sand. Both IceWings wandered off. Chill grabbed a few stones and placed them around the circle, while Slush headed to the small stall that sold firewood.

The three hung out by the fire and watched the sunset, roasting snacks and enjoying the nice, cool evening. Slush eventually fell asleep on Toad's shoulder, and, as planned, the two best friends extinguished the fire and carried Slush to Toad's house.

"Night, Toad," Chill called, curling up on a large round cushion after placing Slush on a separate cushion.

"Night, Chill," Toad responded.

"Toad, get up. It's almost time for breakfast!" Toad's mother called. "I made extra for your friends!"

"Hey, Toad, got any fire? I need the light for something," Slush asked, reaching in her little bag.

"Oh, sure!" Toad replied, lighting a candle on his nightstand.

"I'll catch up to you in a moment," Slush waved them off.

"There's a real nasty storm out there," Toad's mom motioned towards the window, where the rain was poring onto the already muddy lawn. A blast of thunder shook the house a moment later.

"Oh, wow!" Chill stared out at the storm, as another flash of lightning lit up the sky, followed almost immediately by a loud crashing sound.

"Wow, the thunder is so loud!" Slush said in awe, sitting down at the table and beginning to eat her plate of scrambled eggs.

"Well, you three are safe here, so I don't think it can get worse," Toad's mom smiled at the dragonets.

"I wouldn't say that, if I were you," Slush frowned. "Don't jinx us, please."

"What, nothing's going to happen. The storm is about as awful as it gets around here," The large MudWing shrugged.

"Eh, so, what should we do?" Toad asked, looking between the two dragons.

"Um, well... I'd actually like to go home. My dad doesn't like thunderstorms, and I want to be there with him," Slush replied, getting up from the table and stuffing her hat in her bag.

"Aw, what a sweet daughter you are," Toad's mom smiled. "Just be safe!"

"Thank you for having me," Slush replied.

"Bye Slush," Toad said, as the white and silver dragonet gave him a small hug, before moving on to hug Chill.

"See you later!" Chill called as she headed for the door.

"Yup, see you later," Toad grinned.

"Um, ya. Have a great day, or a great life, depends on which way you want to see it!" And with that, the small dragonet headed out the door.

"Odd," Toad shrugged, "anyways, let's play something!"

The two played board games, trying to ignore the crashes of thunder that rattled the house, until the sound of a loud bell peirced the quiet between the lightning.

"Tornado!" Someone yelled. "Get to safety! Tornado!"

"Wait, WHAT!" The three dragons hissed at the same time. They rushed to the backyard and looked up. A large swirl of clouds was forming, and it looked like it was getting closer to the ground.

"Tell everyone to head for my bunker," a gravelly voice hissed.

"You heard the man, people! Get to his bunker!" Another voice hissed.

"Let's go, kids," Toad's mother huddled them towards a house in between Toad's and Chill's, Old Grumpy's house.
