This is your fault: Chill

Chill remembered that day like this:

He had taken the four siblings and Robin to the forest, where they had searched for clues. Mahogany and Oak launched themselves in the air, following the river, while Goose and Robin flew off to survey the land around them. Finally, they were all called back and lead along the river, towards a buildup of logs, where a dark brown talon was sticking up through a small gap.

"Lily! Wetland called. "You better not be dead!" He began clawing at the sticks and logs, but Chill touched his shoulder, telling him to move without speaking.

"I got this," Chill muttered, feeling the cold from within him. He breathed frostbreath around the talon, breaking the sticks as he did so. He finally created a gap big enough to pull the body of his once girlfriend through. It was slightly bloated, probably from being stuck in water for so long.

"Lily? Lily!" Oak hissed, tears in his eyes. He smacked the cold, wet body. "No, you can't be dead! Wake up!"

"No," Goose choked, rushing to the body. She hugged it, sobbing.

Wetland was also crying, stroking Lily's head lightly, as if she was just sleeping.

Mahogany seemed to be taking it the worst. He just stood there, his head low, muttering to himself. After a minute, he flew off. Oak, noticing him taking off, flew off after him. Robin was also crying, and Chill hadn't noticed her sobbing onto his shoulder until a while later.

Chill himself was just she shocked. He wasn't crying, just shocked. He had grown to like Lily quite a bit, and now she was gone.

He still couldn't believe it now, at her funeral. A few of the sibling's friends were there, including their roommates. Chill sat through the ceremony, feeling sad and a bit guilty, patting Robin's talon as she wrapped her wings around him, leaning on his shoulder, lightly crying.

"I'm so sorry," he told Mahogany as the ceremony ended. He sat alone, his face wet from tears.

"Well, I mean..." He sputtered, but was interrupted by Oak digging his talon into the IceWing's light blue shoulder.

"This is your fault! YOU were with her that evening! YOU should have made sure she was safe. You don't even look sad!" He hissed. "I never want to see you again!"

"Oak," Mahogany tried to lightly pull his brother away, but his grip was strong. "It's not his fault. It was a freak accident. He wasn't even there when it happened."

"I new there was something off about you! And now my sister is gone, and it's your fault!" He pulled his talon off of Chill's shoulder, and jabbed his snout with one bloody claw. Chill clutched his shoulder, where tiny drops of dark blue blood were growing bigger.

"I'm sorry," Mahogany muttered to him, rushing off. Wetland followed them, Goose a moment later.

"I'm sorry, Chill," Robin said sadly, wrapping a wing around his shoulder. "I mean, she was your girlfriend and all..."

"I know," he turned and looked at the small tombstone. He felt bad for using her, but she couldn't bring that up to anyone. He didn't have the guts. And Oak was sure to convince the others to hate him as well.

He looked at Robin, squinting as the sun reflected off her scales. It was obnoxiously sunny for such a sad occasion.

"I'm sorry to you, too. You were one of her good friends.

She leaned her head on his shoulder, and he leaned his head on hers, and they just sat like that, staring at their friend's grave.
