Rogue never stopped talking. Chill hated it.
He nodded along, pretending to listen, as she chatted endlessly about whatever boring topic was on her mind. Chill couldn't help but stare at the LeafWing across he room. She was so much more interesting. And single. He knew Robin had a friend who was close to her, so there was no trouble getting the green dragon to notice him.
But until then, he had to stick with this NightWing.
To his surprise, though, Goldenrod looked over at him from today's reading of cookbooks, giving him a small smile. Chill smiled back at the pretty, light green leaf dragon. But just as soon as she had looked at him, she looked away, back to the paragraphs about different coking temperatures for different types of meat.
It was almost a relief when the teacher finally dismissed them from class. Chill grabbed his bags and headed out. Rogue went to follow, but Chill was faster, speeding out of the room as fast as he could speed walk. As he looked over his shoulder, another dragon stepped in front of him. He didn't have enough time to stop as he smacked into Millrace.
"OW! You stepped on my talon!" she yelled, dropping the books she was holding in a dramatic fashion. Immediately, the small group of all male dragons she was with picked them all up for her as she shot a smug look at Chill.
"Sorry," He grumbled, trying to push past, but Glider, the pink SkyWing, stuck his tail out, tripping the blue and silver IceWing.
Chill looked up, locking eyes with Buckthorn. He and Millrace definitely had a thing going, even if the SeaWing constantly flirted with other dragons. The LeafWing just kind of stared, as Millrace grabbing his arm and pulled him away, clinging to his side.
"Oh, leave him alone," someone sighed, as a brown talon reached out towards Chill. He took it, and a familiar looking MudWing pulled him up, a red SkyWing by his side.
"Chill, right?" the SkyWing asked, walking along with them. He was shorter then the tall MudWing by a lot. A yellow scarf with orange stripes at the end was wrapped around his neck, as well.
"Yes..." Chill had seen the MudWing before, but where? "Who are you again, exactly?"
"Tupelo and Longspur," The large, dark brown dragon grabbed his shoulder and pulled him out of the way of some chatting SkyWings before he could hit them, as well. "Remember? We helped you at the beginning of the school war thing? When you said you needed a team colour, and we suggested green? We're friends of Torch and Summer. I haven't seen you in a while. How's it been?"
"Um... great?" Chill replied as the two dragons led them to a large grassy circle in the courtyard. Robin, Summer, Goldenrod, and a SandWing-SeaWing hybrid sat, playing a card game. The four girls looked up as they approached.
"Go fish!" the unknown hybrid yelled, turning her back to the others after a quick glance. Goldenrod sighed, picking up another card, before turning back to look at Chill.
"Chill, are you okay?" Robin asked, getting up and running over to him. She wrapped her warm wings around him, a feeling he had gotten used to over the years, but was still not very pleasant.
"I'm fine!" he said, lightly pushing her away. She cupped a talon around his cheek, examining his face, before letting go.
"Who's that?" the hybrid asked, presumably looking at him. He couldn't really tell through, as her eyes were hidden behind a pair of dark tinted glasses. She was mostly SandWing, With a blue underbelly and a light blue frill, as well as a thick blue SeaWing tail, which held a very small dark blue poison barb on the end.
"That's Chill," Robin replied. "Chill, this is Shore. And I assume you know Summer and Goldenrod. Gold, this is Chill, the IceWing I've been telling you about."
"Ooo, they do radiate cold," the green LeafWing smiled, shaking his talon. She then looked him over with her pretty green eyes. She brushed his scales with her claw, and ended up picking up his tail. "It's so thin."
"Yes..." Chill muttered, flicking his tail away from her, almost hitting Robin as he did so. the small, dark green leaf shape on her own tail had three points. It was the same colour as her back frill, which kind of reminded him of a SeaWing's. It ended on a little half circle shape on top of her elegant head. Her large, eyes, surrounded with a circle of light brown, were still looking him over, but glanced up to meet Chill's blue ones after a moment.
"Uh, wanna play with us?" Robin asked. Tupelo and Longspur were already sitting, and they moved over as to make room for the IceWing.
"Uh, sure," Chill replied, as Longspur handed him some cards. He liked his friends.
