The school didn't do much for the loss of Amber. But even then, the red team still fought hard. The death of their leader seemed to make them stronger. Robin had overheard a few grumbling about the fact she was "murdered by a stupid green team member."
"Oh Robin! You've got a letter!" Robin's mom passed her a scroll. Robin had just gotten back from what felt like a relatively short day of school, as school was about to end for the summer. She took the scroll inside, curling up on the small couch to read it. The title said it was from Lemon. She had to rack her brain a moment, before she remembered the dragonet from her vacation to the Rainforest. She had really liked Lemon, but she had forgotten to write to him.
The letter looked like it had been written by a 1-year-old, with extremely messy talonwriting.
Dear Robyn
I told you to rite to me! It's ok, tho, becuse im coming to see you! im doing that this sumer! Its a vacasion becuse i want to see what things are lik otside of the ranforst me and my frends ar coming! We'll be ther in 5 days!
See you then love Lemon
"Wow, he has bad writing," Robin shook her head, smiling. Five days until her cute little RainWing friend was here. She hadn't seen him in about a year, which made the experience more exciting.
"What do you want for dinner?" Robin's mom asked her. "We have leftover vegetable stew, if you want that."
"Sure," Robin shrugged, heading for her's and Chill's room. She tossed the note on the desk and jumped on the bed, curling up in the white blanket, which she still had from the day they moved in.
"What're you so happy about?" Robin's mom called to her.
"Lemon is coming over in five days!" Robin called back.
"Lemon?" Her mom questioned.
"That little RainWing from the rainforest when we went. He's coming over with some friends!"
"Oh, nice. Do you know where he'll be staying?"
"No, he didn't say that in his letter. I can't wait. I haven't seen him in forever!
"That's nice dear. Stew's ready now."
He's supposed to be here today!" Robin shouted to Torch. She glanced up into the sky. A few dots were flying over, but it was just a group of dragonets, non of them RainWings. The two waited, talking.
"So, how are you spending your summer?" Torch asked. School had let out, and the summer had officially begun.
"I dunno," Robin replied. "My mom is working, and Chill's mom is still studying. I would have thought she'd be done by now, or at least be close to graduating."
"Oh, that's weird. My mom and dad live separately. I live here with my mom, and my dad lives in, like, the furthest part of the Sky Kingdom. I don't think he likes me much. My mom sure doesn't. I've almost been adopted by Summer's family. What happened to your's and Chill's dads, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Oh, my dad was crazy. He lit our house on fire, like, two years ago. Ended up burning to death in the fire. And Chill doesn't have a dad. Well, not to our knowledge. If Seal knows who he is, she won't tell us."
"Hmmm," Torch turned his attention back to the sky. He pointed to a few colourful spots. "Could that be them?"
"I think it might be..." Robin squinted. The dragons above them hovered for a moment, huddling together, before flying down to the far side of the town. The two SkyWings rushed to meet them.
"Just ask!" One orange RainWing stomped his talon. "I'm not about to be told we're in the wrong town again AFTER we go searching for Robin.
"Well, you're search is over," Robin grinned, walking towards the group of annoyed looking RainWings. They all turned shades of happy yellows and pinks at the sight of the orange dragon, but one smaller dragonet turned the brightest shade of yellow.
"Robin!" Lemon yelled, rushing over and wrapping his wings around her in a big hug. "You don't know the struggles we went through to get here!"
