Somebody must be trying to test me. No, Hayden must be trying to fucking test me!

The only thing stopping me from losing my shit right now is the fact that Gage lays above the blanket and fully clothed in the outfit he wore to Paul’s party in last night.

As far as I can tell, no funny business happened. Well, besides the fact that I’m coming home to find my pregnant girlfriend snuggled up with my twin brother; That’s funny fucking business. It doesn’t appeat they had sex though.

Do I nonchalantly wake them up? Or lose my shit? Do I just say fuck it all, and leave?

“Uhm- Hayden…” I whisper, shaking her foot as I rummage through the thoughts in my head searching for the right response to this.

She snuggles up closer into Gage’s neck, resisting having to up with a tired groan.

I stop myself from growing jealous and angry. Nothing happened, I tell myself. You already know they’re… close.

“Hayden!” I whisper louder this time, shaking her leg with more force. “Hayden, wake up!”

She snaps awake, frightened, but gradually growing calm as she recognizes her surroundings. Gage, who she’s woken up during her freak out, remains panicked.

“Ty!” he gasps, blinking his eyes as he tries to clear them of sleep. “We were just-”

He pauses, his mind still too far into slumber to gather all his thoughts.

“-Sleeping,” Hayden says with a flat tone, picking up where he’d left off. She narrows her tired eyes at me. “We were sleeping.”

The room grows silent as they wake themselves up. I’m not sure what to do besides stand here contemplating my next move.

I told Gage i didn’t mind that he was close with Hayden; As long as there was so sneaky shit. I’m not sure how I feel about his reaction to seeing me a few moments ago, but I try to give him the benefit of the doubt because he’s my brother.

“Hayden and I are going to her mother’s place to have breakfast with her sisters,” I say all of a sudden, holding a flat tone in my voice. “We’re already running late, so-”

Gage is quick to grab his phone and hat before slipping into his shoes.

Hayden groans. “Can’t we call her and reschedule for dinner or something?” she asks, pulling the blanket over her head. “What is this about anyway? Am I in trouble?”

I shake my head, reminding her that Mama G has some results from her last doctors appointment.

She groans again, but pulls herself from the bed to make her way to the bathroom.

As soon as the door clicks shut, the room grows tense. Gage rushes over to me.

“I didn’t sleep with her,” her whispers, though avoiding eye contact with me. “Don’t go trying to get all macho on me; I stayed here so she wouldn’t look for someone else.”

I nod because it’s the only thing I can bring myself to respond. I believe him, but it doesn’t make anything feel any better.

“Thanks, I guess…” I mumble after a few seconds, watching as he heads toward the door.

Someone is testing me today, and you know what?

If it’s Hayden? I hope she knows I passed.
