Zain must be one of those guys who get weirded out at the idea of fucking a pregnant girl.
Or maybe it's that I'm supposed to be Ty's?
It might even be because he found out that I'm only 17!
Whatever the case, I've had to put in extra effort striking the flame back up after Ty so rudely ripped me away from him.
"Wait, so you two aren't together?" He asks, sipping on a beer while he watches Paul, David, and Billy face off against Ty, Gage, and Pete in a heated round of Band Hero.
I shake my head, pretending to pay attention to the match too. "Nope," I say, trying to seem nonchalant. "We haven't been for a while now."
I can tell I've piqued his interest again, but that he's having a hard time trusting that Ty and I aren't together.
But why would he?
Tyler is still out here introducing us as a couple- partially to keep up the facade with Mama G, and partially out of wishful thinking.
"He didn't seem so fond of you moving on earlier, when he dragged you out of here for talking to me..." Zain says after a moment, turning away from the game to glare at me as if he'd caught me in a lie.
I laugh though, having no trouble coming up with a response.
"It's not his favorite thing, obviously," I giggle, rolling my eyes in a playful demeanor. "But there's nothing he can do, you know? We're not together."
Zain flattens his brows, still skeptical.
All the guys break out into a roar around us as the game concludes, leaving Gen Z victorious. They plan another match without hesitation.
"Doesn't look like anyone is too concerned with what we're doing anyway, huh?" I ask after a few seconds, feeling Jena and her monster grow impatient. "We could slip off right now; Nobody would even notice."
Zain laughs, contemplation clear on his face. He glances over to the rambunctious group of guys setting up for another round of Band Hero, and then back to me.
"Alright, come on," he whispers after a moment, grabbing my hand.
He leads me across the backyard, into the house, through the kitchen, and down a long hallway to what looks like a music studio.
"We can't be long," he tells me as he shuts the door. He chugs the rest of his beer before continuing. "Someone is bound to make the connection if we come up missing. Especially after the stunt your man pulled."
I roll my eyes, but keep it to myself.
I'm not going to bother arguing with him that Tyler isn't my man. I've already got him where I want him, so that's no longer a factor.
"Don't take long then," I tell him with a wink.
I guess that was game on.
Zain closes in on the space between us, pulling my face to his as he presses his lips to mine. I always hate this part with the randoms, but stick it out knowing that I'll get what I want soon.
