Sunday, 9:41 P.M. EST

I can hear that there are people in the livingroom. It doesn’t sound like Dane out there, but all of my pounding on the door goes ignored.

It must be that Sierra girl out there… maybe a couple other girls just because Dane doesn’t believe in leaving anyone in his apartment alone.

It doesn’t sound like one of this goons though.

The muffled coughs I’ve heard have been too soft, and the Bad Girls Club theme song played a few times on the TV. If it’s one of his goons out there, he’s definitely lowered his standards.

“Please, just let me out!” I yell, taking my chances. “I have money! I’ll give you fucking money! Just let me out!”

With my back against the door, I let my head fall against it with a hard thud. It hurts my entire head and makes the ringing that’s been present worse, but I still do it three more times.

I expect it to go ignored again, as it has for the last half hour. The light coming in from beneath the door breaks with a shadow, indicating someone’s presence though.

“How much do you have?” a female voice asks after a second. It sounds like the girl’s voice from earlier; Sierra.

“Enough!” I call out,  growing eager as I climb to my feet. “I have plenty of money! I’ll have it transferred to you! “Just please, open this fucking door!"

The girl laughs. I can’t tell what kind of laugh it is, but she’s quick to follow up with a scoff. “You know Dane would kill me, right?” she asks, the tone in her voice snarky. “I also don’t have somewhere for you to transfer these funds, Einstein. What do you need to come out for? You should know better than anybody that he’ll find you. He’s pretty… obsessed with you, you know.”

If that is Sierra out there, her attitude has completely changed toward me. At first, she seemed like she might have been a fan of Hayden’s or something. I’m not getting those vibes anymore.

“I’m not going to leave!” I call out. “I- I just need to shower… and get out of this room! He didn’t mean to put me in here, he was-”

The girl cuts me off, letting out a loud chuckle. It irks my nerves, but I try to stay calm knowing she may be my only way out of here.

“Uhm, I don’t know!” she says after a few moments, a smile clear in her voice. “He sounded pretty intent on keeping little miss Hayden locked up in there… I don’t think I should take that with ease!”

I sigh, but low enough to where the door will muffle it. “What do I have to do?” I ask, a defeated tone in my voice. “What do you want from me?”

She's silent for a few moments, but I still feel her presence outside of the door. “Well,” she says. “If you don’t have any cash to give me so that I can leave town like, immediately… then I guess we’ll go for option number two!”

I sigh. This girl is trying to pull something over on me; It’s clear in her voice.

“What is it?” I ask, flattening my brows because I know she can’t see me.

I hear her grow excited, and can tell that I’m about to agree to some stupid fucking shit.

“Evelyn says you’re the only person besides Dane that can get into his stash safe,” she says, her voice growing closer as she closes in on the door. “And you’re going to help me get into it!”

Oh, God… Is this girl new?

“You don’t think Dane will know it was you when he checks the security cameras after finding out something is missing?” I ask, flat toned and unimpressed with this girl’s thinking.

She responds with a quickness, a know-it-all tone in her voice as she does. “Dane won’t go look in his stash unless he has a reason to,” she says matter-of-factly. “Which, in other terms means if you don’t open your mouth. But in case you feel the need to? I’ve thought up a fail-safe for that too, and decided you’ll be the one on camera!”

This bitch…

Dane is crazy if he thinks this chick is an upgraded version of me! So what, she doesn’t sleep around! I bet this bitch would rob him blind if she could!

I hear her put her hand on the doorknob as if to try to sway my decision.

“So to be clear,” she says after a few moments. “You’re going to break into Dane’s stash, keep quiet about it, and then take the fall when the time comes… You think you could handle that, Goldy?”

I only need to contemplate it for second.

I don’t need to protect this girl, and when it comes down to it? It’s me, Jenalyn’s word against the word of some weak attempted replacement. And if by chance, he doesn’t believe me?

Hey… he sees me on footage doing exactly what he wants me to. Depending on his drugs.

“Deal,” I say without much more hesitation.
