I could see Luke sitting on my bed playing on his phone from outside my bathroom. I was rummaging through my bathroom draws and put basic make up and a few hair clips in a small make up bag. I walked out and opened my wardrobe to find a summer dress to place over my now dry bathers. I was trying to be fast, not to keep the boys waiting.

“You can have a shower at my house if you’d like?” Luke says seeing that I was still wearing my bathers as underwear.

“You sure that would be okay?”

He nodded and returned to his phone. The boys had just easily convinced my Dad to allow me to go to their grandparent’s house. Dad must have really liked them, as he usually wouldn’t allow me to go out boys he barely knew.

I quickly grabbed some underwear and shoved them in a large handbag and place my make up bag on top of them.

I turned to Luke and asked him, “Umm.. What do you want me to wear?”

He looked up from his phone and laughed, “Uh, clothes”

I sigh in frustration at his sarcasm then laugh, “Seriously!”

He stands up and walks to my wardrobe and he strokes his chin studying my clothes that were aligned on hangers.

“This is cute,” he says grabbing a white, lacy loose fitting dress that I had only bought a few days ago. I smile at his choice and fold it up and put it in my bag, grabbing a brown leather belt to go with it. I grab my favorite roman sandals and placed them on my feet. I turned around and Luke was holding out to me a long black cardigan for me to put in my already full bag.

“You’ll probably need this, Rach” he says and I nod not wanting to be cold as I was when we went to the drive in movies.

I return to the bathroom and spray on my favorite perfume and place it and a can of deodorant in my bag. I grab my phone and wallet and place it in my now full handbag and turn to face Luke.

“Done” I smiled to him, standing in the doorframe.

He stands up and smiles, “Didn’t even take that long!”

He follows me to the             sitting room were Jai and Beau are both on their phones. Luke coughs to break the silence and they look up.

“That was quick!” Jai exclaims as he stands up and stretches. Beau does the same thing.

I laugh and clutch onto my large handbag, “Didn’t want to keep you boys waiting.”

Luke grabs the movies of the coffee table and Beau grabs his keys out of his pocket and starts to swing them around his index finger.

“We’re leaving now,” I yell to Dad.

“Okay pumpkin, see you boys!” he yells back.

I follow the boys out the door and pat Bear goodbye. I close the front door and bend down to place a key under the doormat, just incase my parents are asleep when I return. I stand back up and Luke was waiting for me whilst the other boys were already in the car. I gulped as I felt like I was always keeping them waiting. Luke gave me a half hug as we walked to the car and opened the door to allow me to get in. I give him a half smile and slid in.

The ride to the Brooks house was spent in silence. I was happy about this, as I really needed some thinking time. I just kept thinking about Luke and I and that I was meeting Gina and his grandparents. I just have a feeling that they won’t like me.

Beau drove up the driveway and parked beside a van. We all hopped out and I followed Luke and the rest of the boys around the back of their house and into their laundry.
