I walk into the bathroom and see Gina already sitting in front of the mirror on a chair.
“Sorry for taking so long” I say apologetically, placing my bag near the wall realizing I hadn’t given Luke his crewneck that was draped on my bag.
“Don’t worry love, was Luke okay?”
“Yeah, he’ll be right. Just having a little sook.” I laugh jokingly, brushing Gina’s hair gently trying not to hurt her.
She laughs a little but stops and admits, “Rach, don’t get me wrong here but Luke really likes you, he has never brought a girl home let alone to a family gathering”
“Oh, wow.” I say trying to take in what she just said. I parted her hair and clipped the top section away from the bottom. “I must be pretty special to him.”
“You are. Its really cute actually, when he first told me that he met you at the bowling alley with the boys it was like when he told me about little Rebecca in year 4” she happily sighed, “he just won’t shut up about you” she laughs.
I laughed with her, feeling a little overwhelmed with this. “He’s such a sweetie, if I hurt you just say so.” I say referring to me curling her hair.
“I’m tough.” She laughs and continued talking about Luke, “Its nice though that he has someone to talk about now. Like I mean Jai is always going on about that Ariana girl, and Beau used to always go on about Jessie and now Luke has you to talk about. It’s nice” she smiled.
I smile carefully curling sections off hair, “Who is Jessie?” I question.
“Crap, I probably wasn’t supposed to tell you. Oh well.” She laughs, “Beau and her have been on and off for months. I’ve never met her but he won’t be quiet about her but recently he has stopped talking about her. I don’t know what happened but now he has been quite … nasty.” She frowns.
I frown realizing why he seems so different in real life then in the videos. “That girl must’ve been really special.”
She nods making me almost burn her with the straightener, “Yeah, hopefully they will make amends or he will get over her. I just keep telling Luke and Jai to just ignore him at the moment. Jai has been pretty good but Luke sometime forgets. It must be hard though for them all really.” She frowns.
“Yeah, they are all really sweet boys.” I say trying to lighten the conversation up. “Your hair is already looking good already!” I say showing her bottom section of hair already curled.
“Sure does!” She smiles enthusiastically, “I’ll look better then Jenna the old hag.” She laughs.
“Sorry, who?” I question brushing through another section of hair.
“My older sister, let says the family and I haven’t seen her since Luke and Jai were littlies, and she expects everything to be back to normal. Like I love her and everything but.. argh” She says in frustration. “And not to mention she has a spunk of a boyfriend and runs a multimillionaire company” she scoffs in disgust then laughs. “Have you got any brothers or sisters” she questions.
“Nope, single child” I frown.
“You’re Mums lucky!” she says cheekily and laughs. I laugh along with her. I hear my message tone go off in my bag and Gina looks over at the wall were the sounds came from. I was half way through curling a curl and almost burnt her once again.
“Sorry love, did you want to check that?” She questions.
“Its probably just Luke or one of my friends” I sigh, walking over to my bag and unlocking the screen to see Luke had messaged me.
