Why is it that I
Have to fight for my rights
My right to exist
My right to live
My right to love
My right to laugh
My right to speak
My right to be me
Why do I have to fight
For what is my right
Why do I have to pretend
Simply to prove my gender to you
Why do I have to lie
Simply to live a happy life
Why do I have to work so much harder
Simply to make the grade on my paper say A
Why do I have to hide every day
Simply to avoid questions easily answered on Google
I'm tiered of explaining myself
My choices
There mine to make
My rights to exercise
But you decided to take my voice
Cut out my heart
And burry my sole
So now I can't use my rights
Why do I have to fight
For something that was my right
Before I told the truth
