the Little Girl and Demon Boy

There once lived a little girl
Kind to all
No matter their crimes
She shared her body with lost souls
And befriended spirits unseen
Until one day she met a demon
He talked with such a sweet voice
And seemed to have such a kind smile
On day she asked him why he was always so sad
He said he had no body to live in
So she shared hers
Welcomed him in with open arms
He said no
He would devour her soul
There was no room in there for two
But she insisted
Said they would find a way
So the two shared a body
And all was well for a while
In turn for a body to call home
The demon shared knowledge and tales
He protected the little girl
Guarded her innocent heart
They grew close over years
But the girl was kind
And the demon cruel
The girl at first fought his cruel tendencies
And even softened his heart
But she was reluctant to grow up
Things were harder
People crueler
The demon put more in order to protect her
She decided she didn't want to live on the outside
Handed over control to the demon
He was cold and distant
Angry with the world
His heart held only kindness or the girl
And a few others
But as the body grew
The girl remained a child
Sitting in the backseat
Though the demon had little control himself
For a while he had to lay low
But the body didn't fit right
And he grew tiered of the girl pestering him to be kind
He got angry, rampaged
Killed the little girl he loved so much
Or so he thought
She came back
Smiling
Taking hold his hand
She didn't blame him at all
Told him not to be sad
About taking her body
Or trying to kill her
She just wanted him to be happy
And he cried
Hugged her tight
And they walked off together
With his pointed tail dragging behind
