Once someone asked me, "How are you?".
When I replied with 'I'm good', she said,"Thanks for the standard response. Now tell me how you really are".
That's when I smiled at her and said, "I am okay and not okay simultaneously".
She frowned and asked, "What does that mean?".
"It means I am okay at the outside and not okay inside".Yeah. I had become so habitual of keeping everything in that half the time I really thought I was fine despite the emotions roaring inside me. I had somehow found a way to ignore and look past them.
