My lifted hand that was just about to knock at the door halted at the last millisecond as I contemplated if my coming to her house was a mistake. I unclenched my fist and dropped my raised hand back to my side. Letting out a sigh, I shook my head and took a small step backwards. I turned around and pocketed my hands as my feet fastened their pace. The door smacked against the wall as it was thrown open. "Mom, I will be back in a while. I am going over to Sameera's!". I stopped my movement as my friend's urgent voice filled my ears. "Sameera?"
I turned around to see her in the process of putting her jacket on. I cleared my throat and started, "I wanted to apologize-".
She ran towards me and hugged me tightly. "I am sorry too."
I embraced her back as a smile like hers took over my face.
