Why does working hard for something pegs you for being a person who wants to steal others' thunder?

Why do people have to see your result and say that you pretend to fuss and stress; literally over nothing and still get such good grades? Like please calm down. You have no idea how stressful my days had been to reach this point of success.

Why does one need to cut back on their efforts to fit in, to not hear taunts, to not hear ill-mannered comments?

Why don't people get happy in someone else's success? Why do they have to pass on crude remarks and bring down the person's elation?

Why?

Is that the reason why we do not want to share our joys with not more than only a handful of people; whom we know are our well-wishers?
