Why is crying considered a display of weakness?

I don't think the statement is valid.

I think it makes you stronger because you shed your pain and sorrows with the falling tears. With this lifting of weight, you become relaxed and can do better efforts; for whatever it might be. Crying is just a much needed vent out in my opinion.
